What's the best monk rod you've ever seen?
I've finally decided to get a set of tatoos for my monk character (urgh, i hate that) and combined with a collector's ankh, I have 64 energy.
The weird thing is I've never seen a Holy Rod with any mods. What's the best you've seen so far? Is there a +10 energy holy rod around? |

most 1 handed things only have energy as a "special" mod, and usually only up to (i blieve) +5. i could be wrong, but thats the best ive seen or heard of.

I haven't seen many holy rod with any energy mods. I did had a smithing rod that +3 energy but lost it trying to expert salvage it to add it to my 11-22 dmg holy rod. So far I know that staffs have +10 energy and offhand energy items are up to +12 energy. I did find some +5energy underspecial conditions, but since I'm usually not at full energy during a fight, it didn't seam worth it.
Does enyone know how many mods you can add to an item (off hand energy item). I currently have one that adds +12 health, and was wondering if I could add some other mod to it. 64 energy I have 42 with my monk and I seldom run out of energy with my healing/protection monk. |

where did u find this rods? I might help plp in missions or quest in the area to see if I get lucky. Plus since I'm usually healing / protecting plp I seldom get a drop.
I belive the drop system is based on damage done to mobs, then after x ammount the monk gets something |

In general, you are unlikely to find a one hand item with more than +5 bonus energy, which will be an inbuilt bonus, not from an upgrade. Wands, rods and Foci do not have upgrades, cannot be salvaged for upgrades and cannot be upgraded. Which is why a good staff is best |

I've never seen a good Holy Rod actually, I doubt it's already found..
I really need a wand (Holy Rod would be nice ) with these stats: Improves casting speed using Healing Prayers(chance: 20%) Improves skill recharge using Healing Prayers (chance: 20%) But someone told be this is impossible, is that true? And if so, can I get a wand with these stats? Improves casting speed (chance: 10%) Improves skill recharge using Healing Prayers (chance: 20%) Because those are nice stats too Hehe. I think it's strange you can't get any Healing Prayers/Divine Favor wands from collectors, since you can get wands for different atributes. ANet should add them ! Quote:

i have a holy rod for my monk char that has +10 nrg but -1 nrg regen. Its really crap damage wise (2-4 fire i believe) but since my monk build isnt for dmg i dont care and the +10 nrg, coupled with +12 from divine symbol makes a good combo. The -1 regen isnt really noticeable from my experience

I did get the focus item, the -15e -1ER healing ankh..
I'm just wondering if there is a wand/rod that has such a mod too. That'd bump my monk to 70+ energy! |

There's a mesmer collector wand outside Gates of Kryta with that mod, perhaps the necro also. Shitty damage of course.
But 70E is shit if you only have 2E regen...

I don't know about a healing rod......but there is a smiting rod that does
Damage 11-22 Improves casting speed using Smiting Prayers(chance: 20%) Improves skill recharge using Smiting Prayers (chance: 20%) You can get that from the collector in Droknars. |

In my opinion, -2 energy regeneration is not that bad if it gives you total +30 extra energy. Although, you might need Energy Storage which limits main profession to Elementalist. With Ether Renewal, you have practically unlimited amount of energy. When energy drops to +15, cast it and spam other enchanments to you until bar is full. Even one or two pips on the left side doesn't matter that much, you just have to pay attention a bit more. Downside is that it reserves elite skill. You can always use weapon sets to bring two pips back and energy decreases by 30

i have a +10energy 20/20 healing ankh but it also has +30 health which i think is alot more valuable than just 2 more energy
i used to use that same holy rod but i switched to a 20/20 staff with nice mods which basically leaves me with only 2 less energy than my former rod/ankh combo but also 20% longer enchantments |

Health is over rated.
I use the collector healing ankh someone posted above and a 5 ene 1 hander for 54 ene combined with offering of blood I haven't ran out to the point of me being useless for a while. If I'm having to spam healing that bad we're probably already screwed. |
