tastes noobalicious: If you want to use Swords in PvE that's fine. I'm in the firm belief that as long as you're decently spec'd, you'll be effective enough in PvE. But if you venture into PvP, in the current state of the game, Hammer and Ax outclass Swords, bottom line. Hammer's role is not only high damage but also the ability to chain knockdowns thus giving the opportunity to put and keep any opponent on the ground for a good amount of time (namely Monks). Axes have a higher chance of a critical strike than Swords and have a better DPS than Swords due to it's more damaging and better attack skillset. Also, Eviscerate outclasses any Sword elite and I'd take Disrupting Chop over Savage Slash anyday. Edit: Saw a point I had to single out. Last edited by mr_boo; Aug 30, 2005 at 10:18 PM // 22:18.. |

Thank God and the mods for the search function.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ight=axe+sword It pretty much states the differences between the weapons, but it's more PvP-oriented. In PvE it doesn't matter so much what weapon, but a lot of the basics are still true. You want damage dealing? Go with Axe and Eviscerate, and/or Cyclone Axe for groups. Want to use a defensive Elite and still do a good deal of damage? Swords and Galrath + Final Thrust. (Hmmm, White Designs already said this.) |
