My Mo/W dopple is hitting me for +50 with a bow?
I have a lvl 15 mo/w who is fighting his doppleganger. Each time the dopple comes out with a bow and plinks me for 53 to 101 each hit. Is this broken or is my dopple a wanna be ranger?
After the first time I took all the bows out of my inventory and it still happens. Do rangers hit for 53 with a bow, if so I wanna be one. Last edited by gpofcore; Sep 02, 2005 at 11:03 PM // 23:03.. |

Dopple always gets a bow for long ranged attack. Don't move in, or he'll just break out a chaos axe and start smacking you. The level difference is also pretty important.

Thanks for the information. I just assumed a doppelganger would be well, a doppelganger, as in a ghostly double of me. Since my marksmanship is zero it makes little sense that my so called doppelganger is an excellent marksman?

The doppleganger does everyting you do, but better. He has all attributes in everything. He only uses the skills you have though.

The doppleganger is a mini-mission you do after completing the three desert missions. It's you versus a computer foe.

Just for fun I recently beat my Mo/W mirror with my solo farming build! I didn't get the bonus but he did end up on the floor decapitated.

The doppleganger is somewhat of a mirror image of your character. You must meet this doppleganger in 1 on 1 combat at Augury Rock in a mini-mission. Prior to gaining access to this mission you must complete the missions for Thirsty River, Dunes of Dispair and Elona Reach. Once you've completed all three you can then enter the mano o mano test by talking to the ghost at Augury Rock.
As for how to beat him... as a monk I would load healing breeze, divine boon, zealot's fire and retribution into your skill bar leaving the rest blank. Cast retribution and zealot's fire on yourself and then let your energy regenerate to maximum prior to stepping onto the last rock which teleports you into the arena. Once inside rush up to him and begin spamming healing breeze and divine boon. When you rush him he will pull out his axe and cast frenzy. Retribution will kick most of the damage back to him. Combined with the damage he receives from the repeated firing of zealot's fire due to your constant spamming of divine boon and healing breeze he should be on the floor in a jiffy. Let me know how it goes. |

The best offense you can have against the doppleganger is to use the fact that he attacks against him in some way or another That's the only difference between yourself and him--he WILL attack, sooner or later. If you find a way to use that against him you can win no problem.
Or you can just outmatch him in speed casting strong spells ;p |

doesnt matter what attr you put points in, dopple i belive has 12 in every attr. You need to outwit him with your skills, bring usless ones and dont use them, let him use them an capitalize on that.

He mirror image does not use healing breeze, ta da, thats how you can heal yourself. for a warriror take off all skills and just hit him, you have a 1/2 chance of beating him so you'll beat him within 15 mins.
I personally found ranger mirror image was hardcore. equip: apply poison distracting shot some form of block or evade skill (whirling defence) healing spring The FIRST thing your mirror image does is apply poison...silly rabbit fire stracting shot at him. Secondly go into your blocking stance, set a healing spring and apply poison. (healing spring ought to let you have a bit extra health by the time he starts attackin. Now, fire away at him and it's a simple waiting game. |
