how do u get a pet on a PvP char? thanks

Just use Charm Animal and you'll get an Elder Wolf.

To get a pet on a PvP only character they need to be either a primary or secondary Ranger and have the Charm Animal skill on their skill bar. If they do, when they do into a PvP battle they will have with them a level 20 Elder Wolf. This is not changable - all PvP only Rangers get the Elder Wolf as their pet... If you want something else you'll have to make a PvE Ranger and use that in PvP instead.
