Gates of Kryta - Bonus Bugged? (post SF update)
I'm not 100% sure, as I haven't done this bonus before, but it appears to have been glitched by the new chest system. Accourding to my Prima (yeah, yeah) it should be in a chest at a certain location, and there is a chest there. I don't know if this is happening elsewhere but these old, unlocked chests, which were supposed to be replaced by the new locked chests, are scattered all over the map, but are empty. The one that is supposd to hold the "Orrian Text" is also empty. I grabbed a group of all henchies and explored almost the entire map, and was unable to find any chest that gave the "Orrian Text", although I was able to find one (out of about ten) old-style chest that did give a common item.
everything else appears to be empty, and I didn't have the money to buy keys to check the relatively rare locked chests, though it should be in one of those. Can anyone verify that this is a glitch? or provide assistance for the bonus if it isn't? And yes, I already returned Oink. |

I have done this mission countless times with 4 characters. There is only one chest to find the book, so if you are wasting your time looking in all the chests.
The book is always in the chest by the shipwreck. This is hard to find. Before you go over a bridge on the way towards the normal mission quest, go down to the right, then follow the water to the left under the bridge. Follow the water all the way. At some point you come to a bend. The shipwreck is there. |

I seem to remember among the numerous times I did this bonus with various people that on rare occassions the chest did not give us the book. I believe it was on missions with mostly henchmen so I always assumed that it had assigned the item to one of them therefore making the bonus mission impossible to complete.
Usually restarting the mission would make everything work correctly. I have had similar experiences with a quest or two that involved getting an item from a chest. |

I have had troubles doing some quests with henchmen because of this. The quest you get at fishermans haven or whatever that place is, is like this. You need to fight through a lot of various monster groups to get to a chest, and in the chest you find the quest item.
I wanted to do this without other human players, and I needed at least 2 or 3 henchmen to survive the battles. And every time I got to the chest, it was empty because the item became (randomly) assigned to a henchman! So I went out with only 2 henchmen, and when I was close enough to the chest to see it, I did a big swinging run around a major enemy group between me and the chest. My henchmen got caught up in the battle and died, while I sprinted the rest of the way to the chest, which was also guarded by a monster group. Either I was lucky this time, or I was far enough away from my dead henchmen so that the quest item was assigned to me. I quickly grabbed it, got killed, and then finished the quest. |
