Hello, I have been playing for about 3 weeks now and I still have tons to learn. My question this time around is about Ascension. I am level 18 WN btw. Should I wait until 20 to do it and more than anything.. HOW do I do it and what does it entail?

I searched for "ascension" and got links with rl pics, posts about doppleganger (I figure he/she must die for me to ascend but that is all I can summise)... it is all very confusing. Any tips or links on "how to ascend" would really be appreciated. Thank you

there really arent any "how to's" to do this. but i can give you a rough idea.
you dont have to wait till you are lvl 20 to ascend, you can do it at 18 and because you are an honest player you will probably have an easier time then the ones who have been run on their first time through. you have to go to Augury rock and do the 3 ascension missions there, sorry i cant remember the name. then you must fight the doppleganger, the mirrior image of yourself who equips the same skills as you (but doesnt use all of them so read up before the battle) plus a bow and i think maybe an axe) its not all that dificult to beat because of all the smart people who posted how to!

yeah you have to go one on one with this doppleganger guy after you beat him you "ascend" I can't remember the town/outpost but he's in the desert. He's kind of easy if you choose the right skills I beat him with two spells took about 10 sec. if that. Not sure if you have to wait for Lvl. 20 or not cause I was already 20 when I got there.

Ahh cool

this is the info I am looking for. I actually did a quest from Augury Rock (sp) last night. It was kill 10 minotaurs, I wonder if that was the ascension one? I didn't get a second quest after doing it so not sure if that was the one, hmmm. So you do the 3 quests out of Augury then are lead to the doppleganger?

No, the ascension quests aren't quests, they're missions. If you talk to the ghost by the teleporter in augury rock, he'll send you to a new place, talk to the three ghosts there and they'll tell you about the missions and their general locations. Then you need to go find them and complete them. There is no primary quest that will take you to them here. Just go explore the desert, you'll find a few outposts and the 3 missions spots as well as more quests.

no that isnt the 1. 1 is named thirsty river, the other elonas reach and the third i cant remember.

There are quests at Augury Rock that will help you find other map points. Those map points will have missions. You have to complete the three missions to then have the right to fight your mirror. The three missions can be tough. I would guess that you won't be ascended for a week at least.

And those screenshots on how to get to one area or another is very helpful.

yep, the three quest you do are in missions in other towns, one is in Thirsty River, one is in Elona Reach, and the other is in Dunes of Despair. Once you complete these three you then go back to Augury Rock and talk to one of the ghost there (cant remember which one). He maps you to the place where you fight your mirror.
