Need some advice...
I have very limited time to play between full-time work and college.
I'm debating between a monk and a warrior. I know my limitations with game time make grouping difficult. I find myself grabbing a henchie monk(if playing warrior), or a henchie warrior if playing monk. My problem is this, my monk seems to like to follow me into battle and dies rather quickly because of it. If I were to play a monk, would the warrior henchie be as pointless? Please share your stories or insight into the matter. I use henchies because at times I need to drop the game and tend to real life matters...my days of camping for 8 hours at a time are gone, hehe. Warrior or Monk, and pro's and con's if there are some that make the choice easier. Thanks in advance, Mind |

The problem with henchies is they will follow you and your lead. Thus if your playing a warrior and run into battle, Alesia and the other henchies will all follow you. This is because they are programmed to "follow" the player they are with, and when the player rush's into battle they will try and stay within your aggro circle.
However, there is a way around this! Select a monster and then press CTRL-SHIFT-T - this will target the enemy without you attacking it. This will send Stefen (and later Thom if you have him with you) racing ahead to attack them if your close enough. If the monster is just outside of your aggro circle melee henchies will race out to engage them and thus draw a lot of the aggro to them. You should do this as both a distance attacker and as a warrior yourself. Creature's attacking stefen/thom are less likely to leave them to attack Alesia when you charge in to attack. If they do switch, you just switch to atatcking them and kill! Targetting works great if your a distance attacker as Setef (and Thom later) will aggo most everything... Your only dread will be Alesia CHARGE! stupidity where she will run ahead of you to the edge of your aggro circle and aggro everything on her and then die very fast... If your going to play with Henchmen alot, I'd go with Monk. As a monk you can stand back and direct your henchmen by calling targets and what not without you yourself rushing into the fight and having the henchmen blindly follow to stay close. Also, a player Monk is much more efficient then the henchmen and later on you will be able to make a 3 monk all henchmen group which is rather effective.

Thanks
I appreciate the input.
Sounds like Monk it is. I had figured as much having tried the warrior with monk henchie. The effectiveness went down the toilet when the monk tried to help out in the battle. Again, thanks for the help. Mind |
