extra abilities
Over the past days, since the update, I have been following the green item posts, and can't help but see similarities between these and set items in Diablo 2 LOD. Has anyone checked/tested if the GW green items give added bonuses if you use multiple items with the same boss' name? I just thought it could happen, given the links the creaters of GW have to D2. Thanks

I dont think its posibble to wear ALL sets.
most bosses (if not all), drop 3 different kinds of green items. for example, a necro boss candrop: a wand offhand and staff you can only wear wand + offhand or a staff. there is NO WAY to wear all three. for rangers, you can only use one bow at a time. for warriors, you can use shield + sword/axe or hammer by itself (if they are dropped by thesame boss) I dont think its possible to wear the full set at the same time as all of them are weapons and cant be used simultaneously. |

Well, yeah, that's obvious. But if you have the sword and shield, or wand and focus, etc. do the two items help each other out? I doubt it, but just though it was possible, and would be a nice shoutout to D2.

No, it does not provide any bonus. If it did, it would be an imbalance in the game.

Yea, I think whole idea behind this game is that the developers are staying away from having players dominate because of what items they have rather than the strategy and skills they use.
If players got bonuses from weapons they collected, then that would imbalance it for players who don't have all the time in the world to collect things. |

I fail to see how adding like +5 to health would unbalance the game, especially when these items are supposed to be common and fairly easily accessable to all, but point taken. I'll just go in the corner and pout dissapointedly now.

Well, becuase it wouldn't be just +5 health. You've seen the pics of the items, they're like powered up versions of the collector weapons from the souther shiverpeaks and the crystal desert. all the bonuses are maxed out. if they *did* stack and give further bonuses, it would get all kinds of ugly. I can imagine a Monk with a full set and +100 health now, in addition to faster casting/recharge times, more energy, bonuses to attributes...
didn't A.Net get away from Blizzard for this kind of stuff? |
