Alesia Broken
Just tried a run through Thirsty River. Alesia is flat out broken. She ATTACKS constantly, doesn't heal. Even if Lina dies, Alesia just keeps going in to attack. AND...if party members are dead she will not res them. You can get her to stand right on top of a corpse and she'll ignore it completely UNLESS it is Lina...then she'll res her! It's been this way for a few days and driving me nuts. Anyone else notice?

She tanks well enough for me. I haven't really noticed any change in her actions as of late....

cant say ive ever had any issues with her healing.. shes crap in comparison to lina tho imo unless you a character that doesnt heal yourself.
But people like that deserve to die ingame lol, cos each class has the ability to do something like that.. the monk should be there to make you more impregnable |

i think alesia has been working on her solo build for a while now. my first character is a warrior, and for as long as i can remember, alesia has been running up to the midst of battle and tanking along with me.
i don't think she has the tanking monk build right yet, as i still see here die a lot. maybe she needs a few more superior runes or an elite spell? |

I had that happen to me out in the desert this past weekend, and the other player had already used his rez sig. I ended up having to map out and meet up with them later.

It doesnt happen. Some people are forced to drop the way they want to play in order to self heal. |

You have to understand: Broken *is* Alesia's last name.

Broken Alesia....
Yeah, I've encountered this too. I was soloing with the henchies, and we all got killed except Alesia and myself. When the fight started going badly, I retreated, and the remaining henchies followed, leaving a long trail of dead henchies along my path. Unfortunately, Lina was the first to kick the bucket, so she was the furthest away, right in the middle of a pack of griffons. I backtracked after escaping the aggro to heal up the party; Stefan was the closest henchie. Alesia refused to heal him. She was standing on top of him, but she wouldn't do ANYTHING!!!
So I wandered over to dead Orion, same thing. Then over to Little Thorn, no rez from Alesia! Grrrrr! So I thought, I guess I'll just have to kill all the griffons myself, which I proceeded to do. So as I start fighting the griffons, Alesia immediately runs up to Lina and proceeds to rez her, of course right in the middle of a griffon pack! Somehow she survived and managed to bring Lina back from the dead. Once the griffons were dead, I returned to the other fallen henchies, which Alesia was happy to rez now. Maybe she just gets depressed when Lina dies, and refuses to go on with life. Maybe a little Prozac could help her! Dwig |

Alesia will only heal if she isn't busy getting beaten up by mobs that she tried to tank and if she has the energy.
Alesia will only resurrect if all other characters have near full health and the corpse is within your aggro bubble. And yes, there is a mystical resurrect order that cannot be denied in fear of divine retribution. |

Her behavior - like the other support henchies - is very random. The attack henchies (Ranger, 2 Fighers) are quite predictable - but sometimes I have had Alesia do an awesome job of keeping a party alive, mid-rez combat ect ect. Othertimes shes dead or stupid useless 3 seconds into a fight.
Which in a way is kinda good - playing with henchies simulates random PUGs very well in that respect *grin* |

Kuku: Try Aura with Ether Feast combined. That's about the only real potent way of doing it.

no i completely agree. I have been doing (completed initial 4) all SF quests with henchies and I have noticed something completely different with the two healers as of late.
They WILL NOT res other people if one healer or the other is down. so if the whole group is down other than you and said healer henchie, she they will not res ANYONE until they other healer is resed. same goes for their healing style, they arent doing it now for some reason! I can most definately confirm this as I have 3 lvl 20 ascended characters - all of which I had completed almost every quest with henchies (they are more predictable than humans*) i am starting to not believe the above statement on dependablity because of the recent change in healing henchie attitudes since the patch. I think Alesia heals better than most PC monks. Her only downfall is that she spends so much time healing everyone else that she forgets to save her own butt. She's also terrible about moving when she's being attacked. But, if you can keep her alive, you will hardly find a better monk for healing.

My "theory" of this has been that the thought is if you're going to resurrect someone, who is going to be the most useful to resurrect? The monk who can help everybody keep alive longer or resurrect as well if need be. I've noticed that Lina tends to resurrect Alesia first of all people as well. Unfortunately it results in aforesaid rigid behaviour. Why do I spend time wondering what swims in an animated, programmed characters' head? I don't know.

I am not sure about this but the reason she runs up to you is she has healing touch and needs to touch you maybe it need to be taken out and yes some runes and elite would be nice as well as Lina having SOR.

*EDIT: oh yeah, occasionally the lack of heal/rez could be an energy problem. There are mesmer-like creatures out there. Last edited by galkraft; Sep 14, 2005 at 02:45 AM // 02:45.. |
