Desert and the choice of a "More then one secondairy profession"
Lo all,
I cant find the answer of searching the forums cause no results are showing up for clarification BUT there's a sertain moment when after you've preformed the quest of "Vanyi" in Droknar's Forge about "Secrets in the Dunes" where you need to travle some places. On those places, where you probably made a stop to rest or that you've found had no lighted persons which, after accepting that quest of "Vanyi" on those places several persons had some quests. Now comes the deals, each are path's of a sertain Professions where yours are excluded and if (well in my kind of way) you read the message (see attachment) well then you should be able to add actually a Third profession on your character but then again not I think. Cause the message truelly tells us: "More then one secundairy profession." and then ending with: "Would you like to change professions right now?" What's up with those things actually. Do you actually change your secondairy profession OR are you able to preform and set skills for a third profession. If it is only changing the secondairy profession then I think that they should change the sentence to something more accurate. I've asked ArenaNet or atleast better said the support on Guildwars.com and they couldnt give me a answer on it and they've prefered to ask this question on the community forums where probably lies the answer. So, what's the deal actually IF even the developpers doesnt know the answer. Greetzz EuT |

This will change your secondary profession. If you change it you will no longer be able to use the skills of your old perfession.

Like he said ... after you have completed all the "path" quests (Monk's path, Mesmer's path, etc), you can freely change your secondary class at any time in Heroes Audience.
When changing class, you lose access to skills from previous secondary, but gain access to skills from the new secondary (the few starting skills + any you have learned). You will have to spend skillpoints or do quests to learn these skills, however. You can change back to your original secondary class anytime and will gain back all the skills you had learned for it. It's a wonderful feature that allows you to customize your character depending on what you want to do at a given moment (for example i'll switch my Mo/ to /W for farming, but switch it back to /Me or /N for doing group things because of energy management skills these 2 classes offer). |

Thanks for the replies to answer the weird question. I didnt tried it just to see if others had done it by themself. Anyhow, still for ArenaNet to clearly tell the situation of the paths cause like I said: It aint in the manual nor in the support and even the support team could tell it.
Anyhow, I remain R/E cause I'm doing great with it (mass/group dmg) atm and yet I've heard others complaining about it and remove their char just because their running out of nrg and because it's useless. |

But you DO get more than one secondary profession. You get 5 secondary professions. You can only use one at a time, though. If you make a new PvE character, that character will only have ONE secondary, until he/she also completes the quests. So the description is still accurate. Just misleading, like many of the skill descriptions.

It is correctly formulated; you get to master more than one secondary profession. However, you can only use one of them at a time. This just enables you to switch. I changed my E/N to E/Mo because it is much more useful. I have unlocked almost all monk skills now; when I have finished I'm going to change to mesmer.
