There are different bows for different uses.
Short / Half-moon for close range, quick shots Longbow for distance / pulling Horn bow for some armor penetration (believed to be 20%) etc. What do you want your character to do and someone here can say the best bow (in their opinion) for the job. |

I suppose best bows depend on situations...
Long Range setups... [outside aggro bubble, 100'] Enemy is being tanked/not moving? Flatbow Enemy is charging your team? Longbows and their equivalents Medium range setups... [aggro bubble edge, 90' approx.] Good dmg and decent refire rate? Horn bow & their equivalents Melee range setups [they're fighting you toe to toe...] Half-Moon & Shortbow. Range is no longer and issue and you want FAST refire. |

Forgot to mention,
my Warrior/Ranger <------- Only carries one bow to pull with. I found a good low req med damage one with a poisoner's sting in it. My Ranger/Warrior carries three (3) bows, and an axe & shield. Bow one is a poisoner's long bow of Fortitude. When I want to reach out and touch someone. With Knidle, frenzy, and twin shot. I can stand way back behind all the players and minions and rain fire down all day long. Bow two is a max dam flatbow. For when I need to hurry them lil bolts of joy along. A half a second faster diff in GW sure makes a big diff. Bow three is a Eternal bow, that happens to match my axe and shield. ( A girl has to be well matching all the time) Last edited by Amei Leng; Sep 18, 2005 at 10:15 PM // 22:15.. |

My Ranger uses a build based roughly around: Tigers Fury(9 secs), Punishing Shot(+17 dmg), Kindle Arrows(+20 Fire dmg) and two other bow attacks, with the 15^50 collectors Ascalon Bow, sometimes switch to my max eternal, and a Fiery Halfmoon.. works excellent because with Tiger's my Longbow is firing as fast(or faster) than regualr Halfmoon, so I get dmg, range, and speed. When they get close, I switch to my Halfmoon, so I'm shooting very, very fast now, with Kindle on all the time
Worked great for my FoW run a bit ago |
