GW Inofficial Tournament Ladder! Someone wanna help?
Hello everybody!
I were thinking to bring a GW Tournaments Ladder to life. I know there is a official GW ladder as also a ESL one but the official one is not THAT good when it comes to stats and you have to mess your stats as also is not tournament based while the ESL one is out of reach for the most Guilds. So I would make a GW ladder for guilds interested and post about it in the different forums, making Medals/Awards for the Tournaments/Poll positions and so on.... Though before I start something like this I would like to know your thoughts/suggestions/opinions. The ladder would content the following: - Rank - Points - Wins - Losses - Matches attented - Matches lost by default (didn't show up) - Other? (Deaths/Kills unfortunatly not possible since we would had to have a observer on each side to check who exactly killed who and that wouldn't even be accurate. ) The Medals would be partially Class Oriented and partially General. What I would like to do in these tournaments would be the following Unrated types: - GvG - GvG Best out of Two - GvG All Elementalists (only Elem Skills allowed) - GvG All Mesmers (only Mesmer Skills allowed) - GvG All Rangers (only Ranger Skills allowed) - GvG All Necromancers (only Necro Skills allowed) - GvG All Warriors (only Warrior Skills allowed) - GvG All Monks (only Monk Skills allowed but not more then two pure healers per team) - Other ones? Of course we could do mixed battles like (example): Only Rangers and Necros allowed and so on.... I think such types of Tournaments would be lots of fun since everyone will try to counter each other with skills from one Class Only and will make everyone able to learn even more about their classes and their skills by trying them out in Tournaments that wouldn't "hurt" their official stats (ok it will hurt a bit their inofficial ones but thats not that bad is it? :P ). Most of all after the observer Mode comes later. Over time we could even make some "Grand Prizes" like a small amount of Gold as reward for the winners and the follow ups. If the participation would be big and there would be "weaker/new" and "very strong/very experienced" Guilds we could even make two ladders and let the top of the "newer" ones to get the possibility to climb on the "Top" ladder after a Rank gain that is needed to be able to climb on this ladder. If anyone is interested to help or is able to make a script for a site (xml maybe?) that I could run on our site for the tournaments and for the listings it would be awesome. Otherwise I'm gonna try to come up with something else that fits our needs as long as I know that there is enough interest from other guilds. I don't want to make everything for nothing you know? Thoughts/Suggestions/Opinions? (no flames please because they are unnecessary). Last edited by Dumeka; Sep 23, 2005 at 10:58 AM // 10:58.. Reason: Had to make changes/update! |

Sounds interesting, I would be interested in getting involved with you on this. School is a bit oppressive but I would offer what I can. I'll post again when I have more time to think about it all. Or contact me via PM.

Thanks a lot Maltare!
You can also meet me in game so we can discuss it there or send me a mail at [email protected] or even come to our site at: LOB Someone at the Guild Hall pointed me on cheating when it comes to the "All" types of matches and I think that he is right. So I think the only type of matches we could do to prevent cheating would be the two first ones on the list. Though that would be better than nothing so.... if more are interested to participate feel free to contact me. The more on the ladder the better. |
