Impkin92 - GRR Im getting very mad at you. READ THE WHOLE THREAD PLEASE. Chest farming is when you find a chest, (close to a town) And just rezone and open it over and over again for the items. Oh and not to be mean, but your grammar is HIDEOUS..Along with your spelling in your other posts.. |

(that was back before they were so well known about) anywho, fiery sword with awseom mods seem to sell for less than say a long sword with the same mods. i dont care for them. however, i have gotten 2 crystalline swords so far. one is 14-20, and the other is 13-19. but both have +19% longer enchanting as well as another random mod, and are rare. im not gona give out my spot, sorry to all who want me too. however i will give a tip on how to find the perfect farming spot. run. i found mine by runing through each area i could finding and opening each chest. i did the same on missions. the area where i go isnt a walk in the park like the divinity coast one. there are many chests in the area and the good one doesnt ever seem to be in the same place. sometimes its not even there. so just go for a jog, if you dont find a good chest spot youl probably find a good farming spot. |

Straight and simple, Southern Shiverpeaks give the best drops as you can tell from previous posts. I myself gotten a 5:1 vampiric bow from this area. Not from a chest though.

By looking at the total views for this thread (30,000+ compared to af few dozen or hundred for other threads), it's so blatantly obvious people want to find more stuff, yet the developers keep taking it away, so we rush to threads like this hoping for a hint at some place to get a few more gold pieces.
Some people shoot down farming, but in the end, we want guild halls, armor, and other stuff that can only be had by insane amounts of gold. The whole idea of nerfing an area to punish players is ludicrous. The numbers are screaming-"Where's all the good stuff? Stop punishing the players!" I feel so much better now. Bragg |

I think it's rather a case of people wanting as much as possible as fast as possible, and preferably without anyone else getting any. People think they want a lot of gold in this game, because they don't have it. If ArenaNet would for instance put farmable chests in the game that gave 100,000g each, people would instead complain about the game being way too easy, about gold being valueless, etc.
They're not punishing players, they're making sure areas give equal opportunities to get gold, rather than certain areas giving significantly more than others which destroys the reason of going anywhere else but a certain area over and over again. That somewhat balances wealth across the playing field instead of rewarding only those 'in the know' about a certain spot or chest. Ofcourse people want to cheat this balance to get more than the next guy, but I don't see why ArenaNet should cater to them. |

I don't think its cheating the system per sae. Honestly I just ram a charecter through the game playing the story line and I get to Drokners Forge. Do I have the rescources or capital to buy new armor? Heck no I'm not even close! Now granted I would expect ot haver to put some time into exploring to make up differences but were talking about still needing 80% of the requirements. Now I ask is the system balanced? No it not.
Now personally I don't want to have to farm and grind for ever and ever to get 1.5k (not 15k mind you) armor. To this day I still haven't had any mob drop a superior viger or absorbtion rune for me. So here I go farming away so I can at least hold up some semblence of compition in a pvp match because so many people do have the good stuff. Now I learn about the barrel runs. Hmm... Spend a little time doing boring running to get money to buy what I need and not have to spend long amounts o time grinding. Just sounds like good common sense to me. This is an alternative means to find funds for those who Don't want to spend ALL there time grinding. Now I can concentrate on doing skill captures....grind....grind....grind..... *In ANET's defense, they have repeatedly stated they are not nerfing to hurt the players just to stop bot usage.* Last edited by MasterQu; Jul 29, 2005 at 04:41 PM // 16:41.. |

The worst part about is that you could spend 10 hours solo farming and only get around 50k (I'm not exactly sure about the real amount you would get). Minimum wage pays around $5 an hour and farming is a job because no one wants to have to farm. So spend $50 in time for the hopes of getting 50k or spend $6 for a guarenteed 100k. That just proves how messed up the economy is. Then they nurf the drops so not just the botters but the players are hurt also. If anet just gave better rewards for players near the end of the game then it would solve a lot of fustration to the players who don't buy ebay money.

Brother Mhenlo, I'd just like to take a moment (seeing as this thread has already been bastardized well beyond the original point of the post) to thank you for your regular input, scathing witticisms, and hilarious little entendre's that continue to make reading these forums a regular joy. I'd like to make mention of the fact that you deserve the title of Educator as you so desperately desire (Why did you stop spamming your little plea in every message? I'm sure it was going to work!) because dammit, you deserve it. You've continued to educate me as to what the opinion of the average Guild Wars player is on every subject, in every forum, on every thread. You're the shining example of most of the players in this game. Thank you for bringing that aspect of realism to the boards which represent it!

Great, bump an exactly 2-month-old thread for no reason...there are PMs. The OP's question has been answered, chest farming is much different now. Although it's a bit harder for chest farming to be profitable now.
