Modding Fiery Dragon Sword?
This might be a really stupid question, but I wanna check first....anyway, I really like the look of the Fiery Dragon Swords. Now, I know that they have the fire mod on it, and if you add a fire mod to a different weapon it won't have the animated flames. If I overrode the fire mod on the dragon sword with something else (say ebon or whatever), will it lose the animation?
I just see fire mods as a waste of a slot, and I'm not gonna take look over function. Thanks, and please don't flame me if it's a stupid question |

You can't override the Fiery Sword Hilt on a Fiery Dragon Sword. Tough...get another sword.

Aw, that sucks. And I really don't see what gives you the right to be a jerk about it, I was just asking a question.

Don't worry about it. I ask insane questions all the time. In answer to your question, no, you cannot mod a fiery dragon sword into say am ebon dragon sword. The "fiery" prefix is there permenantly. I also assume that you will have someone flaming you more by telling you to use the "search" function before posting a question. Click on serach type in "fiery Dragon sword" and then make sure you click on the Questions & Answers below where it says "search in forum(s)"

I did do a search for "Fiery dragon sword", and came up with 4 pages of posts, most from the Sell/Buy/Etc forums, but I couldn't find any answering my question.

Do an advanced search: Click on the Search link in the upper-left hand corner of the page, or at the bottom of the page click "Advanced Search". Make sure that the forums selected is limited only to "Questions and Answers."
This question isn't asked like every 6 seconds so I wouldn't have bothered to flame him. I wasn't trying to be a jerk, just saying that it sucks. Besides, Long Swords are cooler |

I prefer the look of wingblades. But anyways, really wish you can change the animation/color.

You can add any pommel to it, but not a hilt, which is where the fire animation comes from.

The only reason a fiery dragon sword sucks is because the fiery hilt is virtually useless. I have a wingblade & a longsword with great stats that I've been using for months, but I like the way the animation looks on that so I would have rather had that if I could mod it, which apparently I can't, so I won't.
BTW, I'm a she. And I forgot to search for that in everything, apparently I just had the 'search for title' thing selected, sorry. Thanks for all the quick responses though. |

Search occasionally sucks for finding answers, which is why I try to search for the answer myself before spamming "Use the Search, moron." It's pretty nice seeing all the FDS's sold in the Sell Forum...
And sorry about the gender confusion...but I could either say "him", which is short but occasionally incorrect; "them", which covers both but it grammatically incorrect; or "him or her", which is the best but too many characters to type out. Damn the English language and its lack of non-gender-specific pronouns. |

At least everybody spells grammar right
Anyway - I wish they would add animations or decorations to items that would show off mods. Even if they were just attack animations or auras or flame/ice/lightning... maybe little force fields for absorption runes. I think it would allow a little more customization in the game. |

Anyhow, Simdarth, I'd love more customization options but then I realize that it means GW would have to up its system requirements. For those that can't afford really good computers, or who don't even have their own computers, that would be a blow to the gut. For now, I am thankful that GW runs on pretty much any decent comp out there. |

Possibly it could be done with a switch added to the video options to turn off ambient animations. Sort of like Rome:TW does... allows you turn off "fidget" animations of the troops as well as turning the syncronization of or off for a unit so that the game can run on low-powered systems.

I'd like to see the Fellblade catch on fire and drip hot magma or something. |
