I've tried the search feature, and it is nonfunctional for me unfortunately. I am relatively new to the game, so my knowledge (what little I do have) is pretty limited to a couple of professions. Are there any threads, guides, etc... that list not only the rare items ( I caught that thread and it is helpful thanks), but also the max damage on various weapons. I know some, such as bows, blades, swords, but others like staffs, axes, hammers, I am clueless.

Try clicking Home in the upper-left-hand corner. The main site has some info too, although some of it's also a bit old.
