The atmosphere was a lot friendlier and a lot less flame pregnant. What do we have now? Get a group of 8 who don't speak to each other. They just accidently side along for a mission... they are like henchmen. Not saying a word, not reacting to anything. If you whisper them friendly you find yourself being on the ignorelist seconds after. And it is getting worse each day... |

Many people didn't buy this game to chat, so if they want to cut off their chat channels it's their right. I do it as well. I prefer to play mostly solo anyway and only group with guildies. I also report every situation I run into that appears to be bot spamming or advertises sales on ebay or anything that involves real money when I do have my chat channels open. So, if you don't want to be banned, don't even speak of such things even in jest, cause I will report it.
Rules are the same as laws to me, if you break them and you are a good citizen and see someone breaking them, it is your duty as a good citizen to report them dial 911 in real life situations and report ingame rule breaking to the proper authoroties when you see it. Take screen shots copy text, submit it and feel good about yourself for attempting to keep the game within the rules and limits that were created for it. I was happy to read they are banning lots of accounts behind the scenes that are using bots and sweat factories. Good for A-Net at least they are concerned enough to do something unlike many other pay to play online mmorpgs out there. SOE just gave into it and now allows it on specific servers. |

Why can't Anet just ban the domain 'virgoods.com' in chat? I think that would be an easy fix to the problem. Any time someone tries to send a message with 'virgoods.com' anywhere in it, the message will be blocked in a way similiar to when you spam messages too fast. That would be a simple way to stop those bots. Seems like a simple fix to me!

Keep reporting.
Each account banned means they have to buy another copy of guild wars. See it as that the botters are subsidizing your playing. |
