Expertise and Attack Energy cost?
Ok so so I have Expertise at 5 which should give me a 20% reduction in Energy cost of attacks yet none of them have changed.
My attacks that cost 10 still cost 10. Penetrating Attack still cost 10 Cyclone Axe still cost 5 Am I missing somthing? |

It won't show up in any visible way except when you use the skill .... take notice of how much energy is used. It does work.

I made a chart with the break downs somewhere in here. Shows the amount of energy you use at certain attribute levels per original charge.
Only effects ranger skills not secondary skills. |

If ranger is your secondary and warrior is your primary you get no benefit by putting point in expertise.

My bad I guess. I just never noticed it since my secondary was ele, and all I did was use spells with it. No factor now as I don't use anything BUT ranger skills.
Nevertheless I made a chart that shows how much a 5/10/15/25 base skill costs at a particular Expertise attribute number. So if it does work with non spell skills then I imagine it has the same benefit. |

There are probably quite a few instances where expertise helps out on your secondary but my favorite is with mesmer mantras. Most (if not all) are stances which your expertise does affect. The mantras are pretty useful in different situations and many bows have their damage bonus tied to stances. In addition to drastically reducing an elemental or physical damage, they last a long time compared to ranger stances which are short lived and have a hellacious recharge time.
