Bear Pet question.
I used the search function but none of the results answered me.
If you watch your pet bear, you may notice he uses a skill called "Brutal Mauling" all on his own. He rears up to full height and just SLAMS his foe. It's not Brutal strike, and I did notice a significant damage boost each time my pet used it. Can someone tell me if the bear is the only pet that uses its own auto-special? I had a lynx and stalker and neither feline used anything unique... |

The dune lizards use final thrust, and i believe the spiders very rarely use poison

Sorry, I owned a number of spiders for quite some time, and none of them ever poisoned. I really think this is an urban legend.
Regarding the special pet attacks, they are purely cosmetic, i.e. there is no extra damage effect. |

Like the above, all those pet attacks (that aren't yours anyways) are just for show and to confuse you
*or* they are there to use up a stupid interupting players' time |

Brutal Mauling is an inturrupt used by the NPC bears in Pre-searing (to keep them un-tameable). Not sure if that skill still inturrupts in Post though.

Actually, it isn't Brutal Mauling that's interrupting Charm Animal. Rather, it's an incredibly fast-casting skill called "Charm Break" that flies by almost faster than you can read it.
I was attempting to help a friend charm a bear. I had it attacking me with Brutal and using Charm Break on her. |
