Ascension - Guild Wars Forums

Does ascension have to be done with a group? I've tried doing it with henchies and I'm finding them rather inept....which kinda pisses me off. I've done almost the whole damn game with them up till now. They are also useless to me for getting to Droknar's. I simply cannot get anywhere near it before the wurms and tengu massacre us.
If anyone wants to assist me I'd greatly appreciate it.
