In Stance or Enchanted dmg mod?? - Guild Wars Forums

i am new to be a tank and try to collect many weapons for him, one question comes to my mind, do enchanted weapons worth more than in stance weapon, plz tell me which type is more useful and why is it....thx very much

Enchanted weapons are worth more...but either one is fine. It all depends on whether you're enchanted more or in stance more.

it actually depends on the weapons you use. In most cases you will be using while enchanted because most tanks use mending. BUT if you use battlerage, I would go for in stance cuz ur basically going to be always in stance because it recharges fast and it lasts relatively long if you have high enough strength. Also, I find that battlerage is only useful for sword users mostly because of the sever artery, gash, galrath, final thrust combo. Hammers and axes have better elites to use. I personally do not like the while enchanted stuff because a lot of creatures now use strip or disenchant. It really is up to you though. I stick with my 15% while health is above 50% though. If cost is an issue, then like the above user said, while in stance is a lot cheaper. Hope this helps.

What...? I use enchants, but not Mending myself. Fact is if you're a PvE tank, you're most likely to have both enchants and stances up, so either is okay. Enchants tend to be on more of the time though.

For PvP I prefer stances because most of the time I'm in Frenzy or Sprint. Enchants tend to be more varied in PvP, and you won't always have one on.

I prefer 15>50 to enchanted and stance based weapons, though a true tank would probably do fine with stance weapons.

A stance weapon would be better for what youre wanting to do for being a tank. If youre a sword tank then youll probably have Battle Rage {E} up almost constantly, but if a w/mo tank then you can get away with while enchanted because of balthasaurs spirit (at least what i used on my old w/mo). Most monsters in areas past yaks bend now have strip enchantments so if youre relying on mending, then youre gonna have it taken off a lot which is why the stance/battle rage combo for a sword tank is a good option although most 15>50 weapons or +15%/-5 energy can be more useful
