Curious: has Thunderkeep and Elona Reach missions been changed?
Been doing these missions a lot lately, to help friends, and I am curious as to whether there have been changes in recent patches.
For Elona Reach, my strategy had always been to take the left crystal first, then the right, and after taking the right, I would make a quick escape going away from where the gate opens releasing a mob of enemy. This had always worked before. Lately, however, when I do this, I constantly run into a huge mob which I cannot get past. I now have another strategy for beating this mission which works well (taking the right crystal first), but I am curious whether Anet has changed anything here. For Thunderkeep, the last two times I did this misson without bonus, the level of difficulty seems to have been reduced. That very difficult surge of enemies including Perfect Armor seems to no longer appear. Has Anet made this mission easier? Just curious. |

I think they nerfed THK - I've noticed I've been having a much easier time killing off the Jade Armors than I used to. Before, I would have trouble simply tanking 3 of them, even with a healer. Now I've noticed that I can kill two by myself without a problem. I'd like to think I've improved... but probably not.
I did Elona's the other day. Didn't see any noticible changes, but I did do it on my first try. |

Yeah, I totally agree with you....THK was a sort of natural selection and a very very good barrier/filter. |

But still, it just doesn't seem as difficult anymore, not as many mobs coming in at once. Maybe we are just getting better? |

I did it 10 minutes ago as well, and my opinion is that it has become easier:
First time I did it (a long long time ago) we needed 8 humans and I still had to retry like 10 times. Today, I did it with 2 henchies, 2 newb warriors(of which one left) and 3 other cool guys. It was not difficult at all. But maybe that is because I and my guildie already had done it before and could 'lead' the others. Another guildmate of my was stuck there (we helped him out) and he had some troubles with it in other parties. Maybe it is easier because you went there with ppl u know and trust? |

It can also be that youre getting more expierenced in your gameplay and tactics towards the game. I remember when i built my first character how hard of a time i had seeing as it was my first time, now on my 4th (deleted the first to remake) im finding that im having a much easier time as i know what to expect and how to handle certian situations and different playstyles for each character. Naturally the more you expierence something, the better over time you will become at it.

I often help guild members do quests and it seems to be that the difficulty of areas changes from time to time. It may be just random chance, or perhaps Anet is acting as a "traffic cop" and adusting difficulty to corespond to the amount of people passing through different areas. Just a thought.

Well if they did nerf TK and The harder missions from Elonas onward, this will have a huge negative affect on the game. There are far too many idiots running around in the game with no concept/clue as to what they SHOULD be doing in the game. The ones that you see doing Tk for the 900th time are the ones that deserve to be stuck there by not learning from their mistakes and adjusting to the circumstances. They are supposed to be hard for a reason. personally they should have gotten a huge difficulty jump after pre-searing. you can run most of the missions and quests solo with a little time and patience and self healing until about yaks/beacons area. IMO anet needs to make things a little more difficult to provide more of a challenge

I personaly think it was indeed a good 'moronfilter', but I think this is for the best. it's a trade-off imo. (edited for spelling etc) |

Potential customers (money) talks more than interesting and challenging game. If n00bs can't complete the game, they will complain and that would have bad effect to sales because other n00bs might change their minds about buying GW and future expansions. However, I don't blame Anet because they need all the money. There is no monthly fee and big games like GW will cost a lot to maintain. Maybe some day servers and bandwidth are so cheap that compromises for n00bs are not necessary. One can only dream...
In my opinion all the missions are way too easy. Hall of Heroes is only thing which is usually challenging. They probably change it too if n00bs start to cry too much. |

Sorry to burst everyones bubble, but for THK is wasn't made easier, in fact if anything any changes made were to make it slightly more difficult than before. Keep in mind that the mobs don't always spawn the same, that Perfect Armor will not be there everytime you run the mission, it's a random spawn, enough so that I've run it 3 - 4 times in a row and never had the PA spawn, the opposite is also true.
Can't say about Elona, except it's probably the same thing. Making the spawn points more random, makes it a little more diffictult to do, since you won't know always were every enemy mob is. |

But perhaps the difference I had been seeing is due to the randomness of the spawning and subsequent travel of the mobs. Sometimes a real lot comes almost all at once with the big boss (Perfect Armor or his substitute), but the last few times I did this it just seems like this big rush of enemies never occurred. |

Correct. Anet has done a wonderful job in completely ruining the PvE portion of the game with this update. Ring of Fire, welcome 20 more districts.
And PvP bugs are even more exciting. |

this might even get worse when chapter 2 comes out, thus thinning these high end area's even more then they already are. I'd personally preferred to have Keep not made easier myself but this way more european players can actually do the titan quests now. |
