If you charm an animal, you will have it forever (unless you give it away to a tamer)

Yes, a pet can also level, uptill maximum lvl 20

The 'bears and stuff' you are talking about are just other animals which you can charm.

For a good guide in pets, try find:

The Ultimate Pet Guide

It is somewhere on the forums here (I just don`t remember where )

If you mean skills for the pet to do for example extra damage, you will just need to equip those instead of normal skills.

yes imo pets come in handy for keeping things off of you but thats it... otherwise their a waste of space on your skill bar...... thats just my opinion......

Yes, an opinion shared by many uninformed people. Pets can be a valuable part of a build, ignore any who suggest otherwise.

The "Ultimate Pet Guide is here:

and the pet skills overview I wrote is here http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=73304

lol im not uninformed..... i played a ranger who had a pet for the first half of the game..... then i decided i wanted to have more of a varied affect instead of relying solely on my pet and while you have a good point i still think that pets tend to be more of a burden as your skills are all reset if they die because your being mobbed or your pet is.... that is the main reason i didnt like having a pet...... and ill agree with you they CAN be a good part of a build depending on your style.... thats always been my advice.... stick to what your best with and dont let anyone tell you that their way is better for you than your own.... but then i could always be wrong i guess......
