Some questions about bows and other stuff - Guild Wars Forums

1) is there a "spiffy" or "cool" bow like the eternal, dead, stormbows that functions as a sort or halfmoon bow with faster attack speed and flight?

2) i read in one of the fansite fridays that there is "at least one bow with armour piercing" does anyone know what bow or bows this would be?

3) What element is least protected against in PvE (i.e ice fire etc.)

1. I'd recommend using a Flatbow for the longest range and the fastest firerate. Combine this with "Favorable Winds".

2. There is no such bow. A little tip. The longer you stand from your enemies, the higher chance is that you will inflict a critical hit.

3. If you're in:
Shiverpeaks : Use Fire Bow
Fire Island : Use Ice Bow + winter spirit

DMG-types

Elemental Damage
Fire
Cold
Earth
Lightning

Physical Damage
Slashing
Blunt
Piercing

Others
Light
Dark
Shadow
Chaos

Hi,
Here is a good link for bow stats, I use it al the time.

IMO the halfmoon/short should be used for dmg/interupt.
There recurve type bows should be used for interupt.
Flat for dmg also, it has a nice distance with it and you will need to use some sort of speed flight increase like read the winds or FW. Otherwise you have an increased chance of missing.
Long/Storm bows are for pulling.
Horn Bow types suk.

This is just mo. The only way you will truly know is by testing each bow.

Peaks i used vamp bow string, kindle arrows and fire islands i used same setup but winter as well. Winter just changes ele dmg to cold dmg, kindle is fire ^^. BTW, dont kill the spirit greater conflagration as many do. It will help your wariors do dmg in fire islands.
