R/Mo6 Doppleganger
Please refrain from flaming the "play through the game" crap, I already have on two other PvE chars. Also, I searched forums and found a lot of useful information, but nothing specific to my build.
That aside, i'm having difficulty defeating my doppleganger at this level. I bought droks armor already, and so far am using this: apply poison healing breeze prot spirit distracting shot pred season winter fertile season my bow is an ascalon bow with no req, 7-10 dmg with poisoners string does any have any ideas? I am only taking him down to about 3/4th health, and his arrows are striking me for about 42 damage each. |

That's true, that's what I did on my first try. Also, the Dopple will not use Healing Breeze. You should take that.

You should be fine with spirits, apply poison, and distracting shot. As soon as it starts, use apply, then he'll start using the spirits. When he reaches for Apply Poison, distract him. I think that's how it's done.

A different option would be to equip entirely bow skills to your skill bar, with the 7th being savage shot or s similar interupt and the 8th being troll unguent. If you run up close to the doppleganger he will swap to an axe making these skills unusable except the troll unguent which you simple interupt. Goodluck

Never use anything the dopple might use against you.
Outta your build: apply poison < I wouldn't bring it, torisky trying to catch ti with your distracting healing breeze < Dopple doesn't use it so its ok prot spirit < NEVER distracting shot < Ok as long as you dont want to cast anything pred season < Forgot what it does..probably fine winter < Ok fertile season < NEVER |

Look at smiting skills?
I just beat my dopple last night, not quite as low level as you, but since he stands still when he plants spirits I ran up and put a symbol of wrath on him, while using Balthazar's Aura. I could stay at a range and strafe his arrows, activate whirling defense to run up to him and re-plant the Symbol of wrath/Baltahzar's Aura. Since he's happy to try to ping you with a bow you can safely dodge his attacks from a range, letting your PBAoE skills recharge. I was level 11, so I was a bit better off than you are, but it wasn't impossible. |

i beat mine easily with traps, apply posion, and seeing he doesnt use healing breeze bring it. when he traps apply posion shoot him.. than run a distance trap.. and run. apply posion.. and repeat.. only heal breeze when really degen..plus put on a major vigor for more HP if u dont got one already. traps and posion kill him really quick.under the time enough for bonus..just run dont look back.. he will follow...but trap in the part where u know he has to run through.
plus with the new AI update.. i heard dopple was easier. |

A sure fire way is simple.
Set it up like so: Favorable Winds Winter [Free Slot]/Spirit [Free Slot]/Spirit [Free Slot]/Spirit [Free Slot]/Spirit Penetrating Shot Healing Breeze is optional (Only Spirits to NEVER use are Fertile Season and Symbiosis - as they only prolong the battle making bonus harder) If you've collected alot of spirits you arent supposed to have yet (around Southern Shiverpeaks) then fill the "Free slots" with those spirits, they ar more than enough "dead beat" spirits to take the slots. Run up to him so he melees once his spirits are all set. He sets all the spirits (time he is out depends on the number of spirits you came up with), including Favorable Winds that is only favorable to you since he melees when your close...He also cant use the penetrating shot you came in with Just spam Penetrating on him while he sits spirits, and when he is over..he'll be hitting you with weak melee attacks while you own him more with Penetrating. its foolproof-requires no dodging or strafing. |

Just remember how low of a level I am. If i can't do it tonight, i'll do some of the easy ascalon area mission since i have droknar armor and level a bit. That, or i'll tag along as a guildie solo's griffons.

My only repeated piece of advice would be to consider strafing. The doppelganger is a lousy shot if you stand way back and strafe. Since you can then control your rate of injury you have an edge - and he won't strafe. If you do this don't bring favourable winds.

Don't bring Prot spirit... Bring any spirits you want, fertile season included. Any bonuses it gets you will get. The only thing that you get without having enchants on is extra armor, which won't matter because most of the damage you'll be doing is from poison. This build works. Fact. |

I just said the fastest way of killing him. You can do it the hard way or w/e if you like, but my way requires you to actually never get hit (he should never actually get the chance, and if he does..its a weak melee attack - or you could equally strafe here if you prefer your distance), Poison can compensate for the lower dmg a lvl6 would be doing, sure, I'll change my statement on that. All Fertile Season would do is prolong the battle by bumping his health more. I would assume this guy wants the bonus too - and giving the dopple Fertile Season when your only lvl6 is only going to hender that. |
