Question about caster weapons
I heard that the max fast recharge and fast cast you can have is 20% adding up and offhand and weapon, but someone also said the mod on weapon and offhand don't stack. Can anyone tell me the truth?

They will stack, but if you have 20% on your offhand, then the other 20% on your main weapon will only be 20% of the 80% left. it basically equals out to about 36% improved overall roughly.

These are examples from my research. I'll post the graphs as soon as I can get my scanner up and goin. I don't believe they fire like that. Here's my reason why: Each individual item would have to trigger on it's own, which means a 20/100% chance <roughly 1/5> ..nailing both is an off chance, I don't believe hitting a 20% already takes the chance away from the other item down to 80%. You're still casting/using both, one doesn't add to the other, until both are triggered, thus effectively hitting a 40% faster recharge, as simplemath, not forumalaic to get the "specific" % recharge, but loose estimates work well based around this data. I'm not saying it's not 36%, that's not the point of my post. At least in my experience with some paper+pen plotted graphs, this is the data I get. On the off chance both fire the recharge rate at 20% = 5% chance casting spells simultaneously. Again, these are my personal graphs. Take them as you will. I'm sure other people "know" these results as well; these are just my experience. I'm not one for cookie-cutter "exact numbers" but relying on them to both fire seems like an icky-situation. If some people just like it as a bonus; thats cool, but I've actually seen some casters rely on it. Not saying this isn't a good way to go; unless you're a gambling type. 1/5 chance on hand and 1/5 chance on offhand, really amounts still to a 1/5 chance when you cast they'll both fire. It's not totally "far out" there, but it's a little difficult again, to rely on. To Paraphrase. They do not stack. They fire individually. And when, on the chance % you do hit both, yes I will agree it's not a full 40% faster recharge, but it's still a bit far to rely on for consistent results. That's all. --The Shim |

Yes I also heard they fire individually. If so, the precentage would be 20%+20% not 36%. It would be difficult to do the experiement even if u do 100 times, the percentage would be around 35-41 you can't couclude 40% is right even the result is 40%, unless you do several 100 times.

Even then, I'd like to run it by several THOUSAND times..only then would it be truly accurate. --The Shim |

From the 36/4 math, it doesn't lower the chance to 80%, the 4% "super fast" recharge is that other 20%. Therefore, they don't exactly stack, but what people mean when they ask is, "Do I get a bonus for equipping both?" So the answer to that is yes. |
