Lvl 3 Ascending??? Expert advice needed! - Page 2 - Guild Wars Forums

well i will keep my distance and sadly o have no choice but to become a lvl 4 with the xp from desert missions so that sucks. 4 will still be low though.

So I will keep my distance and use empathy and healing breeze since he cant use that. that should help, i got the best armor as of that part in game to help too. So when is a good time to strafe? like about where in his animation? I am sure i will fail a few times to figure it out and it will be hard but I SHOULD have 230 HP going into it. +30 minor vigor, +29, +29 health from my ele staff which will be used, and about 140 hp from the lvl 4 if i recall.

so when i cast empathy do i take ANY dmg or is it all back at him? how much of a percentage is it if any? I read and it says the attacker takes only so much dmg, but does the attack on me get cancelled?

I believe at level 4 you should have 160 base health, bringing your total to 248.

With empathy, he just takes the listed damage when he attacks, but the attack still proceeds as normal, meaning you can still get hit.

If the empathy thing doesn't work, my only other suggestion is maybe lowering your health substantially (which should be easy since you are level 4) and bring protective spirit to only take a small amount of damage with each attack. In addition, healing breeze to keep yourself healthy, and empathy to damage him could work.

i know this has nothing at all to do with this thread, but what the hell is this ascension you guys are talkin about? do you get some special benefits if you ascend or something? or some elite skills? oh and how do you get elite skills?

i posted in like 4 different threads, i now know what ascending is so everyone can just disregard that part. but still, how do you get the elite skills? they sound fun

I don't want to spoil why it happens cause I'll ruin the story twist for you, but it's one of the steps along the way to finishing the storyline.

To access Fissure and UW you need to ascend. And to change your second profession, you'll need to ascend to get to the place where you can.

If I am wrong on any of this, someone let me know thanks.

I WOULD say no skills but breeze and just battle it out BUT! even with a minor rune and +51 armor, i will take BIG dmg. I got that armor since i knew i would needs as much defense as i can. So far it is fun to say "Lvl 3 mesmer LFG" in the oasis.

you made a gw movie? where exactly is this movie, i want to watch it and laugh. and its if good, i might be looking forward to the sequel. hopefully the sequal works out for you.

Bring all scarificing skills except healing breeze... cast healing breeze on yourself and watch the doppelganger kill himself.

Umm... don't you need to ascend to fight glint? That would put you at least at level 10 or so I would think. I suppose you could get bunch of low levels to try the level 30 bone dragon near druid's overlook.

Ascension is literally the process of your character attaining a new level of existence, becoming a minor deity or living god in order to take on the bad fellas at the end of the game (it sounds a lot cooler than it is

).

There are lists of the elite skills all over the net, basically they are the best skills you can get for your character, they can only be captured from enemy bosses using the capture skill signet and you can only equip one on your skill bar at a time. The first elite you will come across will be in one of the three desert missons leading up to your ascension, most of the rest are scattered all over the shiverpeaks

It's a glitch in the system. If you have healing breeze you'll so own him with pure melee. He doesn't use healing breeze unless it's on a condition, so he never uses it if you just pure melee him. A breeze if you have a max damage weapon/almost enough attributes to power it to full.

Another glitch is that he does not use boon...so you could cast boon at start, then hit boon anytime you need a heal. Pair this with breeze and you have him for sure

Nice, thanks for dropping that bit in. forgot to mention, boon is like an extra divine favor too, so like heal+divine+divine boon = even more owange =)

What is the fastest someone ever went from creation to ascending? that would be fun to know, i know it wont be this character, we stopped and goofed a bit. I wanted to go for time but that has left

A good friend of mine from school got from creation to the desert and to each mission within about three hours (One full hour of it was me running him from Ascalon to sanctum cay, through the mission then to the desert towns). He leveled up a bit before he actually tried to beat the doppel though. I have a screen shot of his lvl 2 necro standing in Granite Citadel wearing 15k bonelace armor.

Before I get flamed, we did it purely for fun because we were bored, and wanted to see if it could be done. We both went back together and played the game as it was meant to be played later on.

I did my ascension yesterday with a W/Mo lvl10. I knew the trick of healing breeze (my 5th character through ascension) and... my double used it !

They fix some glitch, it can moves, it uses healing breeze. With these two things fixed, that made my ascension kind of tricky

I did it (finally) using the.. tank method... bring frenzy get as close as you can and bash on him once he used frenzy.. hope that you can inflict enough damage before your health is 0

I also tried using a scroll to get more XP... but that didn't work. I still received 50,000xp + bonus for killing him. The scroll modified the amount of xp received for the kill not for the ascension. So I'm at dragon's lair at lvl 16.

I don't understand how people can have difficulties doing Dunes of Despair. I did it as lvl 8.. with henchmen only. Only one of them died in the process.

I got my level 10 Mesmer to Ember light camp. He had to fight his way through the 3 Southern Shiverpeaks with henchmen, since no guildies were available and no one else would let me join their group.
