Pets lost while zoning in instance
A friend and I got half-way through the Dragon's Lair mission and my pet decided to stay behind about half-way through. It wasn't dead - it just wouldn't zone with me. Since I use most of my skill slots for the pet, I became pretty useless.
I've done searches here, Google, etc. and haven't found anything on how to resolve this without leaving the instance entirely. I'm hoping someone knows of a command or osmething that will 'reset' a pet in the zone or something that will resolve this issue. Thx in advance - Shangus, Lev 20 Wa/Rng |

no "command" to reset a pet.
This is because in most cases this isn't a problem (probably just a rare zoning bug) - because you can go back and just rezone and boom it works. I can see the annoyance that it might cuase under a no-going-back situation. |

This is an old and very unfortunate bug. There's nothing you can do about it once it's happened besides leaving the instance. The pet won't come back to you at a new cut-scene; it's simply gone for the duration of the mission.
Not skipping the portal cut-scene will increase your chances of avoiding the bug, but its still very unlikely that you'll make it to the end of the mission with your pet still by your side. I really wish ANet would do something about the pet teleporting issues (that's what this is, an issue with cut-scenes not with zoning). It happens any place where you're teleported at a cut scene, but in most cases you can back-track to retrieve your lost companion. Dragon's Lair completely cuts out that option since there is no physical path between one area and the next. |

heh, my friend's pet got locked out of Augory Rock during ascention, so all his pet attacks went to waste and then he got wasted with them.

This is because HE doesn't have a pet linked ot Charm Animal - and the game doesn't want you to have the advantage of 2vs.1. |

Happened to me, with henchies though. Stefan and Little Thom dissappeared. They were back at the next zone though.

In Dragon's Lair you can sometimes get your pet back at the next zone. I went through that mission a few times with henchies and it seemed about every other zone I would have my pet.
I noticed in the last mission when you kill the three teleport domes where the Titans are going to invade (or whatever) I noticed that I almost always have had to go back and get my pet after the cut scene. The cool thing about this is, you can kill Rurick twice. I haven't done that mission for quite a while though. I think Jenosavel has great advice about not skipping the cutscenes. |

Just a little off topic but does anyone else find the physical presence of your pet (and other group members pets) extremely annoying, especially if I'm trying to get into melee (or out of it!)? I have seen a lot of people get stuck against walls and simply cannot move cos their pet has decided to hump their masters leg (/exageration :P) and not move for a while. very frustrating

Yeah, pet pathing is probably the worst point of pet AI... and that's saying something, since pet AI is all around horrible.
