Help The Noobs
ive been playing for time, but im still a noob!
Ok rangers ARE the best, just to establish that and I don't like warrior monks. RIGHT--- question one! when healing breeze does +10 hp for example, is that +10 every second or what?? also, are beasts worth it or should i load my xp into wilderness survival instead? im a monk so i dont really need troll ungeunt but are kindle arrows and stuff worth it (i know poison arrow is but ill get that later)? thanks in advance (SO YOU BETTER HELP, youve already got all the reward you are going to!! ) Last edited by Kamatsu; Dec 07, 2005 at 08:59 PM // 20:59.. Seriously, leave the judgement out. When Healing Breeze says +10 it's 10 health regeneration pipe. If you do some search you can find some calcul that will show you how much healing you will receive per second. And my ranger didn't used the pets. I was using Marksmanship / Expertise and Wilderness survival. The second profession was not important; except when I was running in the desert where I used monk to get mending... that's all. And one nice thing about Troll Unguent is, that is not considered as an enchantments. So if you encounter a mean mesmer with Shatter Enchantment, with Troll you will continue to be healed; while with Breeze the enchantments will be removed... and you will suffer some damage! Rangers Rock!... W/Mo's have there place too... As do every other class
10 pips of regen equal 20 life per second. Beast is not worth it... Troll Unguent is one of the best self heals in any class... |

see now, proclaiming the title "help the noobs"and saying rangers are the best, and w/mo suck, now thats just bad, back on track...and monk for a ranger is useless,so what if it heals, thats what troll unguent is for, maybe smite hex would help even with 0 smiting,2nd drop the beast mastery,my setup only uses h/e much marksmanship it needs my bow is 15-28 req 8 14% over 50,+30,10/10,so all i do is knock my marksmanship to 8(note,w/ my lvl 18 i have all 3 sup. runes,so im around 250hp ish, havent been on him in a while)which is probably 5,and my wilderness survival and expertise is around 13/13,which also helps cause my skills barely cost anything, especially since im a interupt ranger/crippler,concussion shot is barely 10 or so,so yeah i wouldnt mind the beast mastery, unless you really want a stupid pet...3rd,if ur going for ignite or kindle,go for kindle in places where their not grouped, and ignite when theri in groups...and gj,poison arrows the way to go!

Mending is not a decent counter to Vamp degen.
That said, I've had the pleasure of meeting up with some W/Mos that were Smiting... those encounters were few and far between.

I'm a W/Mo and I use mending, but only for my griffon farming setup. Other than that, I do a protective bond/succor build that works pretty well.

I only use my pet when Im bored, or Im in low level places. Trouble with pets, like undead, they sometimes chase things they shouldnt, and then attract extra enemies. I would never ever ever take a pet into FOW. Too many groups for that stupid bear to attack.
I also have a w/mo, and have never used mending yet. |

I don't think any profession combo is "useless" (bar E/W maybe =P).

I'd help ya out, but your class bigotry goes against my principles. I for one can try and come up with efficient class combos for any setup but it takes time. If you think Rangers rock and Warriors suck, then I see no reason to help ya since you obviously know so much Mr. OP... |

While pet AI may have issues, attacking something that you didn't tell it to sure isn't one of them. So of course, the solution to your problem is to be careful what you're telling your pet to attack. No sense in getting mad at it for running in, if you were the one sending it in there in the first place. |

cheers guys, lots of complaints about warrior monks being crap :P lol.
i only dont like em cos they kick my arse in pvp and im too stubborn to go with the flow. with expertise, wen it sez 4% less, does that mean if i put 3 points on it, skills that cost 10 will only cost 9?? OR if i get it to 8% will it round it up or not? |

rangers aren't the best. rangers rock, but I wouldn't call any character 'the best'. wa/mo...played often bad, therefor stereotyped. breeze...10 pips is 20 hp/s. But breeze is a spell I wouldn't bring into pvp... if your a monk, i'd say neither invest in both W.S. as BM. Then again, you are talking probably about pve, where almost anything works besides the Tiger's Fury Healer.... If you are monking, I'd say use a staff, not a bow... |
