Zealous Hilt for the win.
Under frenzy, you're gaining 1e. per second. That's the equivalent of 3e. / 3s. or rather, 3 pips of e. regen. That's if your monk is doing his/her job and you're landing all your hits under frenzy. What if you don't use frenzy [as in you're a pve wo/man], then you gain 1e. / 1.33s. which is a little under 3 pips of e. regen. If you're not fighting, why would you need the energy? Of all the melee mods, Zealous prefix for me is by far the best one. Some would argue the Vamp mods would work but I don't see myself gaining much hp even under frenzy from it to offset the loss in dmg a smart player will do to me. [you know, the hard hitting armor ignoring kind] It pierces armor, true, but I like using energy to spam my non-adrenal skills. Why have non-adrenal? So soothing images doesn't make you useless... Ya need only one, and that's the un-dodgable/blockable type... |

Having an Icy Hilt can really boost your damage in the Fire Islands missions, whether Winter is up or not.

As usual, there best answer is "It depends." To be specific, it depends on your build.
Examples: If you use adrenaline-based skills only, you might want to look at a furious sword hilt. If you dish out bleeding all day, a barbed sword hilt might be your best friend. Last but not least, you may find that different hilts work better in different situations. Think about it, you go on a bleeding rampage and find enemies that don't bleed. So many choices ... PS: As we are now looking at weapon sets, here are mine ... (I posted them in a different context once, oh well ...) Last edited by Dralspire; Dec 09, 2005 at 04:44 PM // 16:44.. |

Ok...currently I have a 4 sword set
F1 - Barbed Spatha of Defense (14>50 +5 armor) F2 - Vampiric Wingblade of Defense (15 Always - 5 Energy 3/1 Vampiric +5 armor) F3 - Barbed Flamberge of Defense (20<50 +5 armor) F4 - Longsword (15 in stance) I am looking to mod Longsword...what should I use? Or should I change my sword set? I was thinking Zealous on the Longsword...with the Defense +5...then changing F1 to Icy or Ebon or Fire...what do you think? |

Don't forget the elemental hilts for different areas inflict more damage and are cheap and replaceable.
Shocking, Ebon, Icy, etc.. stuff like that. Cheap and replaceable ^_^ --The Shim |

my warriors setup
F1 = Zealous fellblade of defense F2 = Firey Dragon of Defense (works well in shiverpeaks) F3 = Icy longsword of Fortitude (didnt have another defence pommel...) F4 = 10% ias fire wand (edited, thankx racthoh, i forgot i used that until i watched your vids for building adrenaline while in stance) mainly my warrior uses f1 constantly, f3 when running, and f2 for cold areas or char (i like imitating rurik occasionally) Last edited by Yichi; Dec 09, 2005 at 04:52 PM // 16:52.. |

dream weapons for pve though, in pvp I use another shield Zealous Fellblade of Fortitude [+15% in stance, +25hp] Truncheon [+15e., -1 e. regen 7-10 dark dmg] Zealous Ascalon Flatbow of Fortitude [15% dmg in stance, 7-10 dmg] Hale Accursed Staff of Fortitude [10-22 dmg, forgot the stats] See something here? lol... Energy vaccuum tank... both the 1st and 2nd weapons are backed by the Canthan Targe... |

Shocking Longsword of Shelter (elemental damage better vs. warriors, and +7 vs. physical, my anti-warrior weapon)
Fire Wand (10% IAS... cause aaxte hurt) Vampiric Longbow Defense (pulling naturally) Zealous Longsword of Defense (maintain Flurry forever and +5 AL is the best you'll get) The best depend on your situation, however avoid the Sundering upgrade. Even a perfect one works out to less than 1% increase in damage and that mod will cost you thousands of gold. Also, don't use a vampiric modifier without another weapon for inbetween battles (no explaination there). Also + defense modifiers are better than +health modifiers in almost all situations. Not to mention, they are a lot cheaper. As a last note, the ones with +1 swordsmanship are very useless as they only work when you use skills. |

Sundering 9/10%
Furious 9/10% I get mana back from Balthazars Aura and Bonetti's Defence. As already mentioned it depends on the situation, different maps/monsters different skills. |
