I think there's a dye guide around here somewhere, but I can't remember the link, so I'll try to summarize:
yellow dye --- turns things yellow blue -- turns things blue green -- turns things green orange -- turns things orange red -- turns things red silver and black don't do anything --- I'll buy them for 4 gp each. |

Don't listen to eom, all dyes are worth more than 4g, check the dye trader for current pricing info.
With that said, there are several dye charts in the Community Works section, you should check those out. |

Eom is right, most of the time the [colour] dyes dye the weapon/armor the dye [colour]. And silver and black are the most expensive ones. expensive =/= 4gp

Here is a nice link on how to MIX dyes: http://guildwiki.org/images/f/fd/Dye...radded2yu2.JPG As where to find em, it's random drops or bought from NPCs with, "DYE TRADER" by their name. Enjoy! --The Shim |

I got a black dye once in Pre-Searing, was happy
Ive seen many guides on dyes and how to make gold, but the Silver+Orange and Silver+Yellow looks dull. Like white gold. I tried Yellow+Orange+Yellow+Silver, and it seems more goldy to me Dunno if thats any use to anyone, probably not but hey |

Dye
Ah, Dye, Ive done many things with dye that make me stupid as hell. Once i found a black and used it ona sacred raitment, it looked horrible and i could of sold it for like 5k, i also found a silver dye and used it on a scalp design and it didnt look to bad but still i could of sold. Also i would recomend not using dye on weapons since most weapons already have color so it doesnt work very well

I wonder about this as well. My ranger just got his druid armor in Lion's Arch, and I'm wondering how to dye it gold to match the design on our guild cape...

Certain dyes dont apear in certain areas. Its a drop rate (dipending on how much you kill)
Example: Balck dye might drop after you kill 1000 monsters. Example: Red dye might drop after you kill 100 monsters. Its basickly just the rarity and luck, not locations. My tip is to kill large groups of easy monsters. |

I had a black dye in pre-searing some what into it after a couple of hours.
But it would be hard to prove if its tied to amount of kills or not. |

Nothing. Zip. Nada. Zilch. You get the idea. It's purely random. I've gotten some dyes back to back, and some dyes spaced far apart. It's all random droprate. --The Shim |
