I have retried this mission at least 50 times by now, and I have to say that I'm almost completely convinced that it isn't humanly possible to get past the three portals(this is the place that I die at everytime). Everytime I try this mission I get to the spot and then get ambushed between three groups, usually a group of ashens and a boss, plus the ashen hands and fists that just keep coming, and the portal wraiths. I'm stumped on how to tackle the portals, and would appreciate some suggestions for this part.

Take some time and study the paths that the bosses/enemies walk, then when you can accurately predict an opening, run in, grab their attention, and do your best to pull them out of the area before the other patrols cross. If you can drag them into a clear area and kill them you'll be ok.

Also, kill the fists coming out of the lava before doing that, or they will come from behind and attack your party.

Well I tried that, the more I kill them the more they respawn and keep coming.

Don't worry, they end. It might be a good idea if your party just stands on the path just out of range of the lava, and wait for all the enemies to pass. When they've all congregated in the staging area do like Lasareth suggests and pull a few Fists at a time. It takes a while, but by the end, you'll have cleared the place out and the Portal Wraiths will be easy pickings.
