Why are high req weapons worth so little?
Hello,
I have been playing this game for 5 months now, and i just cant understand why is it that people basically never want or want o pay very little for a say req 12 or 13 weapon. I mean it just doesnt make any sense to me at all, doesnt everyone and their dog max those requirements anyway?. Why do you ppl think its that way?. Any input will be apreciated. Thank you. -Oscar |

Because the less points you're forced to spend in any attribute means you have more for other things. So an item which needs 13 ranks when you can find one which uses 9, 8 or lower. While a 12 item needs 97 attriute points, a 9 only needs 48 points.... thats a big difference.

Because most people out there solo and don't want to invest a lot of points into their weapon mastery. I asked that same question until I started to solo, I need to have a weapon that req 8 or my build just wouldnt be nearly as effective. I have an axe that has req 8 that I found in a chest, I use a superior axe mastery rune to get my axe mastery to meet the req with the build I use. But you also have people who do not solo and want the low req because they are usually stance tanks that want everything they can get into tactics and if they have any brains at all, strength. Most warriors simply don't max out their weapon mastery because there are so many people out there who say if your not a stance tank you are a noob. I'm sure some of it also has to do with the rumor that if you have a lower req weapon and you max your marksmaship/weapon mastery you will do more damage (NOT true btw). If you had a req8 or 9 max damage +15%^50% chaos axe you could get 700-800k but if the req had double digits then you would be lucky to get 100k+ for it and it would require spending a lot of time spamming WTS. If the weapon has req 12 or 13 just sell it to the merchant or, if it has any, try to salvage the perfect mods.

if i ever use a axe/sword/hammer my attribute is going to be 12+ so i quite like it when there are good stats on req 12 items casue they are so cheap!

Also some people would like a req. 7 sword/axe/hammer and still put 12-13 into that attribute for the fact that you have an increased chance of getting a critical hit with your attribute over your req.

First person basically touched it..
The less you have to put into your weapons requirement, the more you can put in other stuff. This goes double for Sheilds. SOme people ONLY use Tactics to meet sheild requirement. So they need the lowest requirements. |

Its just because people want perfection. People pay alot of money on things to show off. IF people wanted perfect simple things they would go to the collector and get one there for cheap. Any good warrior will have 13+ in weapon mastery in pvp, so req isnt a concern there. Perfect weapons are so common that people have started paying for lower req weapons because they are considered "better" While they have the exact (this bullshit about the lower the req the higher the critical hit chance is completely false) same use in combat. The fact is the higher your weapon mastery is the higher your critical hit chance is, it doesnt matter how much higher it is than the req on your wepaon. << People need better interpretation skills. I personyall have a collection of 2 hammers, 8 axes, 2 swords that are completly perfect req 10-12. These all have different dmg mods, upgrades etc. that are useful in different situations. My 5 perfect req 12 hand axes cost about what a 15>50 req 8 would cost.
