How To Run 2 Guild Wars Accounts At once?
I recently came into possession of a second account and I wanted to know if there is any way to run 2 accounts at once. If it’s possible and how to do it. I did a search in the forum but didn't find anything. So if it’s possible and any if any one knows and are willing to share it i would appreciate it. Also how much strain does it put on your system and is there any risk of corruption or any other type of problems that may occur or any other type of problems that might pop up. Thank You

good thread, 2nd post, bit confusing at first but once you try it, it's really simple and works really well |

2 Accounts
I read your link. I am sure this would work but could I simply make a new user account in windows and install the game in a differant location for that user (with a differant CD key). I am not interested in running both at the same time.

if you're not planning on running both, you only have to switch accountinfo (e-mail and pass) when opening GW to access your other account ...
edit : whoops, savio beat me to it ... |

Cd keys only come with the purchase of the GW game I believe. So If you want another you have to get one off another GW player(that is done with the game and doesn't want to play it anymore) or buy another copy of the game. I am not sure if you can buy just a cd key from A-Net or not.

If you mean save the game in another location, you can't, the only way to do it is the way described in the link I already posted. If you attempt to install GW in a second location, a window will come up saying "Guild wars is already installed, would you like to: > reinstall > uninstall > some other thing i forget" Copying the folder as suggested in the other thread is the best way to do it anyway, because it saves you having to re-download the area files whenever you first load into one on your new account. But unless you need to run them both at the same time, just have the one installation anyway. You can buy just the cdkey at www.plaync.com, it costs ??30 (not sure what it is in $) |
