What is Guild Wars really about?
i know that this is a stupid question but...What is Guild Wars about? if some of you looked at my profile & saw my character's name & professions & all that its not really true...yet. I'm about to install it & those are the things that i want my character to be & thats the name i'm going to give it. i just said that so i don't confuse any of you.
What i want to know now is whats it about? like the storyline & such. If someone would be kind enough to give me a descripition then i thank you. well i guess i'm off to install Guild Wars. Also if i meet any of you on it sorry if my character acts a little wonky. its probably all the stupid lag i KNOW i'll be getting. Thanks for the answers! |

Well at first it's about this Charr, and then some more race's or whatever you might call them. However I'm not going to ruin the fun for you! Oh and your name has to be at least two words.
Sir Koolsys Miss Koolsys Could do you some good so you can avoid names like: Ladohado Koolsys or something, heh. |

More than any other mmo this is a mystery story with a beginnig a middle and an end.
It starts out as a nice spring morning, The king wants you to get some skills to join his vangaurd, so you do missions and skill quests. This should take you a few hours to do. The final mission will ask if you want to leave everything behind, they mean this literally, so don't say yes untill you are ready, when you say yes the real story begins. There is also player versus player and Guild versus Guild these are also a bit of the story lore. All the mission are part of the story, wich is why. A few hints. There will be this annoyingly perky girl, Gwen, if you give her the iris flower that spawn she will give you something, keep it, you will need it later. If you get dye save it, it is worth more later on. Have fun!! |

Once upon a time, in a quaint renaissance-ish kingdom called Ascalon, the land was thriving with beauty and happiness. There was a major structure called the wall (for that's what it was), which divided Ascalon from the northern lands. The northern lands were inhabbited by Charr - a race of creatures that hate humans, and we hate em back. From there, you can do numerous random quests, as well as these cooperative missions, which tug you along the storyline. You may be surprised about the "events" that occur in Ascalon after a while - let's just say that the beautiful lands of Ascalon are a mere taste of what's to come.

What is Guild Wars about?
It's about the Kingdom of Ascalon and it's conflict with the Charr, who are horrible looking monsters that look like a dog cloning gone bad. You, the strong mighty hero, will save Ascalon from the misery of the relentless beasts. In the process of 'saving' Ascalon, you get chased, betrayed, threatened, and beat down upon by your enemies. A prophecy enters the story line and you are thrust into mystery and thrills through mystic, beautiful, environments and monsters. In Tyria, you are the Hero. Don't expect a huge scale battle just because it's called "Guild Wars" |

What is Guild Wars about?
There is no Guild Wars. It's more like Gilded Wars: The Search For More Money. Seriously, all anybody seems to do in PvE after they complete the short campaign is farm for more cash. Sorry to be blunt, but it's true. (flame on) |

pve : economy controlled by trickers, people who rip off noobs, people who [don't play the game the way it was meant to be played] and "professionals farmers"
pvp : rank vicious system, totally ruined by IWAY (more than 50% of players for sure are IWAY) every iways converted pve w/mos ubermending to w/r uberIWAY have a wolf emote nowadays, if not a tiger. gg |

He hee
Quote:
I would agree with u there, but the only reason I farm is because I have 6 mouths to feed and they all scream for the same thing: "What, when am I gonna get my 60k armour. Look at Voice, he has it, Blade has it, Forgotten has it. I want my 60k" I still love to PvE though and find new things to do around the land of Tyria or beyond it But seriously, Guild Wars has probably different meaning behind everyone you ask. For me it is about friendship, excitement, adrenaline, sacrifice, loyalty, life! I'm sure you'll get to love it the same as most of us who post on these forums. See ya round Pyrea |

It's a great game, and you'll probably enjoy it as long as you remember that it IS only a game. Some take it way too seriously. Like in real life, most people are nice, some aren't -- ignore the ones who aren't. Like anywhere else on the net, there are some predators out there, so watch your back. Report any abuses to A-net -- they do a pretty good job of taking out the trash.
