Elemental Armour - 1.5K - Guild Wars Forums

I recently started Guild Wars after playing WoW and quiting WoW and playing again and quiting again.

Now I am on the hunt for the 'best armour' as most other people.

But as I am new to the game I am bit confused and got a few questions.

I did do a SEARCH here and found some info that solved a few questions but I still got a few more, so please help me.

If I got it right the Fissure armour got the same stats as the 1.5K armour made by Hagen/Karl?

The Fissure only got one look for each Profession? (and one for each gender).

But the 1.5K got the different 'School' names and looks, like Pyromancer, Geomancer, Hydromancer etc.

That part is my first wonder, that, as you may see by the question I may already kinda figured out somewhat, but not fully.

The second thing I wonder is:

What to pick between the 1.5K armours?

There are 4 different, all with the same stats and costs except the '+15 AL vs Element'

If I??m a Fire Magic alligned Elementalist, is it wisest to use a 'vs Fire' (Pyromancer) armour then?

Will any of my spells backfire so I may need the protection or is it just for me to pick the armour I like the most and use when I play PvP and maybe use the Pyromancer when/if I??m to do something I know I will get a lot of Fire Damage from?

Well, I hope I not offended anyone with my lack of search skills or my somewhat confusing question. =)

That is correct. There is also 15K armor available at Marhan's Grotto and Granite Citadel. Same stats as 1.5K but also has the different 'School' names, as you put it.

For PvP you are more likely to run into air spikers. Spells do not backfire.

I wrote the names of the people who make the crafting (Hagen/Karl) instead of the places ... thanks for the info =)
