Hello,

I bought Guild Wars yesterday and there are a few things that bother me.

1) Where are all the blacksmiths or fletchers? I only saw a "Crafter" who sells/craft very few stuff, and only if you bring him some material.

2) What's the easiest way to make a party? many times I tried standing in popular regions (for a while), asking (nicely) for other players to join me, but each time I was completely ignored. I don't blame the other players, I just think there should be an easier way to make a party than shout around hoping someone would notice you sooner or later.

And if I may add my thoughts - I think the thing where players get their "own copy" of the outer-zone is pretty dumb, because 99% of the time I made parties in other RPG's is by asking to join them while they were hunting.

um, there ARE no blacksmiths or fletchers.
and there is no drop stealing really, so you get your own copy of the exploring world, so you can do things that might change the enviroment a little more...

There are no Blacksmiths, but there are weapon crafters. They customize your weapon adding +20% damage. But the weapon will only work for you when you do that .

Easiest way to make a party?
Use Henchmen
Or
Wait for other people saying LFG then invite them into your group. They'll accept.
Then repeat the process from their

Enjoy.

You're in Pre-Searing, or the tutorial area right now. You won't see armorers, weaponsmiths, etc. until you go Post-Sear. When Sir Tydus asks you to leave and never return, that's when you cross over by answering in the affirmative. I typically hang around Pre-Sear until my char is lvl8, though.

I have never had any problem finding someone to pair up with in Pre-Sear after shouting "LFG Across the Wall" or whatever mission I was looking to party for. Might take a few minutes to find someone...if no one seems interested, I switch districts and try again.

I have a char I'm playing Pre-Sear right now...look me up in-game if you want to pair up for some missions. I'll be more than happy to help out.

In Post-Searing You don't need parties for the quests. So you NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER (get the point) find anyone willing to pair up and do them.

Missions for the big "teamwork" part of the game until the last few quests and areas of the game where people tend to care more.

Oh, thanks! I didn't knew about that Pre-Searing and Post-Searing thing. Do you still get your "own copy of the exploring world" in Post-Searing? Anyway, that's great, I'm excited to see what's Post-Searing would bring.

PS. I'll look you up, Eugaet, thanks.

Wonder how it will look like outside Augury Rock, if there was no such thing as "own copy of the map". o____________O

Yes, everything is instanced outside of 'town' areas like Ascalon City, where you started. You can only leave a 'town' area and enter an instance with up to 2-8 people in your party, depending on where you are in the game.

The game is, indeed, 99% instances--that's one of the best parts of it, and how they keep it subscription-fee-less.

I find it helps to be creative with my party requests when looking for a group. I mean, when I take my Rangeress out, if I just say "R/E LFG" I have to stand around for awhile waiting for a good size group. If I say "Rangeress desperate for burly adventurers to help her with <insert quest here>" people trip over themselves trying to help me out. I can't imagine why
