Two PVP questions......
Since I am relatively new. Water elementalists just not wanted? Ward Against Harm is pretty dang effective and especially helpfu to the monks it seems.
Anyway I ran into something tonight. Blew through ten kills and lost on the eleventh because only me and the monk used rez signets. There was a warrior and ranger who didn't ever use them in the round we lost. The warrior who never used one called us noobs because the cleric on the other side did not get killed the second time fast enough. Explain how that is newbish and thanks. |

Water eles are very nice support characters. That said, the current FOTM being IWAY, there isn't much demand for Water Eles. In 4v4, snares are nice, but having not played one recently, I don't know if the water line alone puts out as much damage as you'd like, especially given the long cast times, high energy cost, and really long cooldowns with most water spells.
Wards are a bit tricky; Foes i can understand because it allows monks to kite and helps in tombs somewhat, but the other wards will often lead to ward camping, which, if you rely on them too much, can lead to problems when you need to get out of the ward. Don't mind the warrior, either. It's only CA, the fact that its a random build will probably lead you to lose sometime. Last edited by Siliconwafer; Jan 08, 2006 at 07:16 AM // 07:16.. |

Thanks for the honest advice. It does appear you need to be a ranger, warrior or monk right now. That is too bad I guess for pure caster types. Anyway still having fun so it doesn't matter.

I've been using a water build as an experiment. Silicon is right, water just doesn't have the "firepower" of, say, air. But, on the upside, there are more damage spells to choose from which do not cause exhaustion.
Water Trident is one of the better ele elite skills (imho), quick recharge, 5 energy, ok damage, plus knockdown if foe is moving. Even with playing around with different skill combos, a water ele is primarily good for support = slow 'em down, knock 'em down so others can beat the crap out of 'em. |
