There is no "best" second profession. Choose one based on your style and skills available.

The fun - for me - is in using all the available second professions. Sometimes I change to accomplish a specific task (early on with the IDS I used W/Me) but more often I change just to explore what it is like to play with different skills. I believe I've learned a lot that way. And the variety adds fun.

A warrior/monk isn't a team healer but /monk can make you durable. I like wa/ne myself using blood magic (life siphon, vampiric gaze, etc) to help keep health up while damaging enemeies.
wa/elem has interesting options, like conjures for added damage and using point blank area spells like inferno when surrounded. wa/mes and wa/ra are not so appealing to me but obviously any combo has something to offer. |

Again, it depends on what you want your warrior to do.
1. Do everything solo in the game (or with henchmen) - Monk is by far the best class because of self-healing. 2. Do everything PvE in a group - I would go with Elementalist (and specialize in earth magic) because of its knockdown abilities. 3. PvP in the competition/team arenas - I would go with Necro, because of its condition transferring skills and overall pesky nature against casters. 4. GvG and HoH/Tombs - again, Elementalist is very nice (as shown by the championship going on, but Ranger will likely be your choice for the IWAY possibilities. The odd man out is Mesmer, which has some value (especially in IDS farming), but for the most part has the least complimentary skills for a Warrior. |
