Earning Skills in the new profession you changed to?
So i'm a W/R and almost level 20.
However I find it hard to farm at all, seeing as I just get beat down, with almost no healing skills. If I change to a W/Mo what is the best way to go about getting all the monk skills needed to be useful? Thanks alot for your time and answers! ^_^ |

The Monk only quests you can do activate then - for everything else you just have to buy them from trainers.

So your saying use the "Learn Skill" skills to get those that I want for healing?
Where can I go to farm them and can i use those on any creature or does it have to be a boss? |

But healing sig gives me allmost no health.
I use it and it barely increases my health bar. Is there any way to improve that? |

I guess my point is if I take my warrior out all alone its not hard for me to die. I know my pet is little more than a distraction but I do have some points in beast mastery, so he can deal some damage. I just want to be able to survive when enimies use magic or some kind of curse on me. My health starts to go and thats it, its over, i'm done.
I figured i'd go W/Mo but everyone does that so i'd like to try something else. Even maybe W/Ne and use some curses or life drain or something. Any tips would help! ^_^ |

You can make W/R work, any combination of professions has their strengths and weaknesses ... as a /R you have troll unguent: it's good regen, and it's not an enchantment ... so it can't be shattered/stripped/removed in any way.
If you find yourself dying too much, the /Mo is easiest, but you might also try using /E and using some earth magic (although this will kill alot of your energy) for higher armor/wards/etc. /Me has your resistance stances (elemental and physical) so if you're fighting something specific, there's a nice +40 armor for you and lets not forget your primary! watch yourself and dolyak signets are AWESOME armor spells (just ask Racthoh ) And I would leave the pet, but that's just personal prefrence. Mittens has got me killed on more occasions than i'd like to think about |

I'm w/n and they have pretty decent healing, but I'm only 16/17, so maybe those later guys will beat me down.
I'm already getting beat down by gypsie ettins. edit ps take some henchies --- then when they get butchered along w/your pet you can use iway. Last edited by eom; Jan 14, 2006 at 01:19 AM // 01:19.. |

LOL, Mittens, that owns.
I just want to know what I can do to last longer. So your saying like hit up with Watch yourself and I don't think I have doylak signet. I use a Sever Atery Power Blow combo and I have Antidote and Healing signets, and Res. I can't farm alone I have to take hencies and I miss out on gold and drops like that. I want to be able to roam alone. The antidote signet takes FOREVER and they usually just reapply whatever status I had, so its only good after the battle. And my healing sig does basically nothing. I'll have to go home and play around with it to see if I can make this work. Thanks alot all! ^_^ Last edited by Ammenius; Jan 14, 2006 at 01:42 AM // 01:42.. |

While you can't get all the skills without buying them you can get some secondary profession skills from completing the class-specific quests in Sanitarium, Yaks and Serenity Temple when you have switched to a new secondary. You might get lucky and some of those quest rewards will have something you need.

Ok,listen up. These guys are not giving you solutions, but pointing you to more questions. First,Heal sig works. Tactic has to be like 8 or more.Your armor has to be decent at least. If you are still plugging away with the Ascalon armor rated 50,you will always get smacked. You need at least rated 60 armor to solo. That rating works for any class.Drok armor will make it where no physical dmg will be large, but magic is magic,so self healing is neccessary.Troll Ungent is good when wilderness survival is 5 or better. Sword and Tactic should be around 8 or 9. Strength is needed as well,so here is my build advice for a solo W/R:
Sword: 9 Tactic: 8 or 9 Strength: no less than 7.wilderness survival: no less than 4. Use runes on your armor,or you will get pwned all the time Skills to use: Watch Yourself,Sever Artery,Gash,Troll Ungent,Healing Signet,Apply Poison,Beserker Stance, and Dolyak Signet(Ice Tooth Cave). If you want to use a pet,it is up to you,but if its too weak, then it will more than likely get you killed a few times. The build I gave you will kill quickly in a PvE area. Counteract Degen of Hp with Troll Ungent and Heal Sig will give you 90 or so Health with a tactic of 8. To farm solo,I reccomend Gates Of Kryta or Piken Square to get the kinks out of your build and still be able to go it alone. Ettin are not easy farming, even with great armor. And having more than the henchie monk means you are not farming, but questing. If none of these options work for you, then find a partner or two to farm with.Safety in numbers, afterall. |

One thing -- if you didn't do all the quests with skill rewards along the way, then when you change professions you might get rewarded with a skill in your new secondary profession.
But mainly you'll just buy skills, paying skill points and cash. Not a problem as long as you buy just the ones you plan to actually try out. |
