some newbie questions (be patient haha)
ok, i just started gw not too long ago (like around a month-ish?)
and there are a couple of questions i have ok so i have a cruel sword of enchanting if i use a expert salvage on it, will i get a part or something? i tried it myself once on a gold staff, and it just gave me 10 wood planks i was a bit mad about that haha also, when i create a pvp character, is there any possible way for me to get other weapons other then the ones they give you in the beginning? and when i trade weapons, how do i know how much to ask for? what is the difference between a normal identification kit and a expert identification kit? and the difference between an expert salvage kit and the salvage kit that is worth 2k? do i get better stuff from the 2k one? i had some other questions, but that's the ones that pop into my head right now haha, thanks |

if i use a expert salvage on it, will i get a part or something? You have a chance to get: Cruel sword hilt, Pommel of Enchanting, Iron, Steel, or maybe even some wood/granite, depending on the type of sword. i tried it myself once on a gold staff, and it just gave me 10 wood planks i was a bit mad about that haha Yeah, it's pretty much the luck of the draw. also, when i create a pvp character, is there any possible way for me to get other weapons other then the ones they give you in the beginning? Play PvE and identify weapons to unlock them for PvP use - or play PvP alot and build up enough faction to purchase specific unlocks... or just do both. and when i trade weapons, how do i know how much to ask for? Hard to figure, the prices fluctuate so much. What I do is first look on here and see if I can find a comparable item for sale or already sold, and check it's prices. If there is no comparable item, put up a new thread in the Price Check forum with a description and/or pic of the item. what is the difference between a normal identification kit and a expert identification kit? How many uses you get. and the difference between an expert salvage kit and the salvage kit that is worth 2k? do i get better stuff from the 2k one? No, how many uses you get, and the Superior (2k) one takes 1 space for 100 salvages, while the expert (400g) takes 1 space for 25 salvages. |

I want to add that I'm pretty sure that you don't get any new weapons for a PvP-character, per se. All you get is new weapon upgrades (i.e. hilts and wrappings and stuff like that).
The expansion should have more weapons to pick from. Besides that, Lasher Dragon is right on the money. |

for purples only keep if it's an aformentioned skin or max damage with mods and even then don't expect more then a couple k for it...i personally just merchant purples as it takes to long to sale imo...exception being crystaline swords definately dont' merchant those for golds do a searh in the Price check forum http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/f...splay.php?f=39 and if nothing comes up...unlikely...then post it's stats for greens, droped from bosses in Sorrow's Furnace(end game location) go to http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=66631 but keep in mind it's somwhat outdated so compare to what's being spamed in game as well as how quickly/how many replies you get Last edited by Manic Smile; Jan 17, 2006 at 08:19 AM // 08:19.. |

The only difference between Superior and normal ID kits are more uses (There is no expert ID kit). |

If you find a perfect gold or a green item in your PvE characters, you CAN put it in storage for your PvP character to use also.
(But with everything, remember to put it BACK in storage before deleting that character!) |
