Picking up less items than in stack - Guild Wars Forums

I got a question which no one seems to be able to answer, although it sounds so simple.

I got ??200 candy canes on my main char. i want to give my two other chars also some candy canes. How do I pick up a few canes from my storage, NOT all at once? I only seem to be able to pick the whole pile up, not just a few.
It is possible when trading, and when selling, how can it be done on your own? Do I always need an extra person to hold them for me?

Thats so weird, are you sure there is no other way?
Maybe an idea for GW:F....
