Chest drop Question - Guild Wars Forums

Ok i just now started getting into running for chests now that i have my warrior ascended and all that jazz. so just a day or so ago i decided to buy some keys and go chest running around droks.. it turned out to be alotta fun.. off of the route that i took i found about 4-5 chests. on my first few runs i would get one purple and the rest gold.. i was really happy with this.. then on about the 4th or so run i started running into more and more purples.. so i decided i had hit some kinda anti chest farming rule that a-net has shoved up our asses.. so i took about 2 full days off of guild wars. came back and finished the rest of the missions to beat the game with my char.. during that time i did not touch ONE chest.. so afterwords i decided to hit a lil chest farming in the lightcamp area.. after the first crappy gold drop the other 2 chests where PURPLE!!!.i was blown away. cause A: this area is uber hard(at least for me) to chest run. and B: dude wtf purple at near the end of the game?.. so i figured it was just bad luck.. i went back to my droks route and got 1 gold and all other 4 purple.. now all i see is purple when i open chests.. and the maybee one gold outa every 9 chests i open.. but the gold it is either a crappy wand.. or a one staff weapon with a crappy mod.. and im talking REALLY CRAPPY one of em had a +20 health and that was it. not to mention EVERY gold drop seince this problem started has had a req over 10 and most are over 11.. so FINNALLY to my question.. are chests regulated by the same standards as farming. because i think they are slighly different.. becuase in chest farming i have sepperated myself from the game. done mission.. gone elsewhere. and nothing works to get the drop rate of golds back up. when in farming all you do is leave for 10 minutes or so and everything is back to normal.. so in conclusion i think there is a regulation on chest drops that goes by number of times gold drops or somthing.. sooo ya thats about it..thanks.

first of all, the rumor saying that you get less good drops with the more farming you do is completely WRONG. i farm all the time with my solo monk, and my drop rate never goes down a bit. well, back to the chests, no, it isnt a regulation, just bad luck for you =P. btw, if you wana do some chest runs, go to FoW. best drops.

when search is back up check out some of the chest/key threads.

you had fantastic luck at the start.

most people unless real lucky get about half the value of the key back.

chests are a gold sink meaning the average gold cost in keys is more than the average payout.

that is to discourage farmbots.

think lottery

pshhh.. paragraphs? they are overrated.. if i had to use a paragraph every couple of seconds.. well i dont know what i would do but.. im sure it would not be pretty.

but seriously..how can the first responder say that there is no restrictions on farming? do this for a test. go with your solo monk and kill about 5 monsters.. then rezone. keep doing that for a good 5 minutes.. and you will see a sign that says. somthing along the lines of the monsters running outa loot..when you do see that anti farming message(and belive me you will) come back and say that the "rumor is absolutly wrong". Maybee its not the type of farming regulations that you or me are thinking about.. but farming regulations are very much in the game. and back to the point. im asking about chest drop regulations. not farming regulations.. that was just for reference

ya my mind boggles when i tried to read the first post...mm about chest farming a good place is outside of port sledge 4-5 chests as well..and way easy with a ranger/monk..i doubt chests good drop rate occurs..seeing its a chance.. best thing i got was a gold fellblade to sup vigor or maybe backwards.
