Post-searing newbie question - Guild Wars Forums

During the academy mission, I noticed to my surprise that there was another player in the party. I wasn't in a party when I entered but I guess that's normal for the game to throw players together for that mission.
So we killed stuff and completed the thing very fast and I enter Old Ascalon. The party is still intact and I see this npc infront of me with ! above his head, and naturally I talk to him. I barely have time to to read the first few words when I suddenly am entering Ascalon City. Suppose that other player went ahead and entered the city, dragging me along without being able to read the npc text.
I've been trying to find that npc again now, as I saw something about "Accept" at the bottom of that text so I guess it's a quest or something, but no luck.

Where is the location where people zone in after the searing? Is the quest about something important? I haven't done any other quests yet as I want to find out what I missed.

Yeah, that happens all the time when you're going post-searing. I think you can just go out the door from Ascalon City and head left up the hill. That's where you zone in after searing. You should run into the npc (Captain Osric) and get the quest from him. I think it's a primary quest so you need it to continue the story. You'll then need to talk to Warmaster Tydus in Ascalon City after you get the quest from Osric.

you can possibly just go talk to warmaster tydus in ascalon city - thats who you get the reward from for that quest.

I don't know the guys name, but i don't know that he still would be out there. All the quest is - is going into ascalon city and talking to warmaster tydus - then you get your reward.

yea i had a similar probelm the other day i got a net error while loading into that part and the npc is longer there and when u talk 2 war master tydus he gives u the next quest you get after the quest forn the npc in old ascalon you may be wondering how u find that quest that you would have gotten well the answer is upon entering the city after u log out u automaticly progress in the story and get the experience that yyou should have gotten

Ran around the Old Ascalon first, looking for Captain Osric while holding alt down so I wouldn't miss him, but he wasn't nowhere to be seen.
After seeing the other replies here I went inside the city to look for Warmaster Tydus and found him. Well there's no reward to be had from him as all he does is give me the "The King's Message" quest. So I guess any possible rewards there was are lost to me.
Just to clarify, was there any other quests I should have got from him than The King's Message?

You will get more from Warmaster tydus after you complete the kings message. some Npcs who give quests require that you do one quest before you get others.

But I guess it doesn't matter anymore if I got the right quest from Warmaster Tydus.

You did a lot of seeking. Osric should have been right where you were when you took that pic. But you're fine. The only reward from the first quest was 500xp and to show you where Tydus was so you could get the next quest (which you already got).
