Monk armor
I have started playing as monk char an I am not quite sure about its armor. Primarily I dont quite get that monk design. If its on your head it looks like some kind of tatoo. If I use leg, feet, chest designs will my char appear to be sort of naked? Does any1 one of you monks use those designs beside that scalp design and how?

Well, if you are speaking of the Tattoo design for the head, no matter what armor you choose as a monk, that will always be the "headpiece." Much like the elementalist uses "eyes," warriors use "helms" and mesmers use "masks." You choose an attribute you want to boost and get that sort of headpiece.
There is an all-over tattoo armor also, that is for extra energy. But the headpiece will always remain a tattoo. |

I usually prefer the tatoos, as they give the most energy. A monk really does not need defense, as they are the ones in the back just keeping people alive, and are less likely to get attacked (this is for PvE). For PvP, do get defensive armor, as the people know to go after the monk, not the people at the front attacking them.

In general, you really can't go wrong with Tattoo hands and feet, and Judge's Pants and Chest.

if i can jump in on this thread as i've done a search, can i ask:
if i have tattoos, i gather the armour won't stack with them? Can i go back to armour, i.e. will adding armour remove tattoo or just nullify it while worn? I have so far (level 10) seen tattoos for +1, is that the highest? THanks |

No armor and tats do not stack. U have to pick on or the other to 'wear'. U can take the tats off and replace with armor. U dont have to do anything special to change fm tats to armor. Its just like any other char. The tats are on 'paper' hence the rolls of parchment. I have Droks tats on my monk and I have +7 energy fm tats so yes some are higher than +1. If you havent reached Droks yet go to a website to look at different armors. There are acouple good ones that list differ types of armor their statics how much it costs and the material needed to make it.
