Do Absorption Runes Stack?
Not sure if anyone has tried this yet, but it would seem that Absortion runes stack. I had an extra major one spare and added it to my armour, not really seen if it made any diference. Has anyone tried it.........?

I know that, but since the new update, the runes advise if they dont' stack, absorption runes don't say (don't Stack). The title was a retorical question

Absortion Rune do sack with Ascalon an Knig Armor, however, so with Knight's/Ascalon Armor and a Superior Absorption Rune, it takes about -5 dmg off every atk.

I noticed this also, it doesnt have that "non-stackable" tag on it. And I dont think if you have ascalon or gladiator armor on makes a difference, however i have not yet tried it.

Well I have Gladiators armour and have put another rune on, though i'm not entirely sure how to check it works. 4 damage reduction plus the 2 from my shield when in stance could come in quite handy.
If anyone has any ideas on how to test this theory out i'm all ears |

To test would be easy..
Go and find melee monsters and note what damage they do with your armor (If you have knights or ascalon or a shield with damage reduction, make a note of what damage reduction they give).. record what damage you take over a period of time to get a working average.. Then apply an absorbtion rune and note the new damage result's.. If you applied a minro rune you should be taking 1 less damage on average.. Once you have established that fact, you apply another minor rune to another piece and again monitor your damage.. see if the average damage done goes down by 1 more or not... if not then 2 minor's don't stack.. Then apply a major over 1 of the 2 minor's and again go fight the same critters as before.. monitor the damage you recieve.. if they stack you should be getitng on average 3 less damage than before (1 + 2 = 3). If not then they don't stack. That's how you'd go about testing them. Although I seriously doubt ANet would suddenly change absorbtion runes to being stackable.. Can you imagine a warrior with 5 major runes, knights boots & a -2 damage shield? -19 damage each time you attack him.. hehehehe |

I know they don't stack, but my question is this, are they global? i mean does the -dmg from the rune apply to every hit you take or just the hits you take on the piece of armor on which the rune is applied?
The general feeling i get is that it's global but i've also seen people with more than 1 absorption rune on thier armor. Anyone got any definitive proof to elay my fears? |

Absorbtion runes are global.
Again, it's easy to test really.. go out with armor with no absorbtion runes, take a note of average damage over time (like say go attack some grawl and write down the damage they do)... then wack on a minor rune of absorbtion onto your boots or gloves (since they only have a ~12-13% chance of being hit) and then watch the result's.. If all damage seems reduced by 1 then it';s global, if you only get reduction of 1 now and again, it's not. However, unless they have severely changed things... Absorbtion runes are still global in effect. BTW, the Stickies at the top of the forum are VERY, VERY useful for finding out info! I'd recommend reading them... since reading them got me these 2 links: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=22018 http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=96789 |

Thats kinda stupid then, they should fix it. If the Absorb ruins dont stack they should have the message that they dont stack and not act like they do.
If they had the (non-stacking) message on it, I wouldnt have spent my last 5 plat getting 2 runes of major absorbtion. |

The question has been answered. I'm sorry you wasted your plat buy'ing 2 runes of absorbtion when yuo only needed the 1. If you want to post a suggestion about fixing this I'd suggest going to the Suggestion's forum - Sardalec Sanitorium.
