Question about items
Hey all.
I have a question about different coloured 'Armour' items I have been finding while doing quests and missions. Some that I have found the past few days and sold to vendors (I hope I didnt make a silly mistake by selling it to them) Dwarven Armour of Minor Domination Magic (Purple) 'Something axe of axe mastery (wasnt actually an axe) (Gold) When I identified them it gave some stats like +1 to axe mastery (req 9 axe mastery) and it came up on my screen as unlocking some rune. Anyone tell me what these are and if they are worth anything. |

Search will help a lot but anyway. They armor creatures armors with RUNES on the. Runes can be purchased (from rune trader)or found. If you find an armor as a drop from a creature that is gold or purple in the text then it has one of these runes. You can get the rune from the armor by using an EXPERT SALVAGE KIT found at merchants in medium level areas. You can use the rune on your own armor to give you the + 1,2,or 3 to your stats(attributes). Little bit more to it but you will learn as you play.

Hey,
These type of items (armours or clothings) are holding Runes. They can be used to increase your attributes when extracted using an 'Expert' salvage kit. For example, Dwarven Armour of Minor Domination Magic. A Minor Domination rune can be salvaged and applied to your own armour if you are a mesmer primary. You can only use runes that belong to your primary profession. Blue item = Minor Purple = Minor or Major Gold = Major or Superior Minor = +1 to attrib Major = +2 to attrib and -50 to health Superior = +3 to attrib and -75 to health Some runes are worth salvaging and sold to a Rune trader, while others are best sold unsalvaged to a merchant. For example, Dwarven Armour of Minor Axe Mastery maybe worth 40g but after salvaging the rune itself maybe only worth 25g. It really depends on the market value so see the Rune Trader prior to salvaging it. If they sell a rune for 100g then they usually buy that rune from you for 25g. The unlocking means that item is available for PvP. Hope that helps. [ADDED] The increase from runes do not stack so having a Minor Rune of Domination and Major Rune of Domination on your armour set will not give you a +3 in Dom. However, the health loss of having Majors and Superiors do stack. Last edited by Caged Fury; Feb 13, 2006 at 03:35 PM // 15:35.. |

To clarify and expand (I hope):
Creatures that drop armor that has gold, purple or blue text have runes. ID the piece to see what the rune is. Expert salvage to recover the rune. Only runes that corespond to your primary profession can be used by you. The others ..... salvage it they are worth something (check rune trader for price) or just sell the armor piece to merchant. Weapons with text in gold, purple or blue MAY have a mod that you can recover. ID the weapon and it will tell you if a mod was unlocked. You can then expert salvage the mod, if you so desire. Hope this helps Edit: Seems like I'm a little bit slow in responding |
