DEGEN question
Im a little confused about how degen works.
As I understand it a char cannot receive more than 10 Degen pips. However there are combinations such as poison/burning and disease/ burning that can get to 11 pips of Degen. So if a char can have a max of 10 pip Degen and say that char is healed with Healing breeze which I think has +3 health Regen, is he only receiving +2 pip Regen? Or does that 1 Degen that is left over just not count at all? Athis For players that want info here's the Degen table. (please correct me if Im mistaken) Bleeding= 3 degen Poisoned= 4 degen Disease= 4 degen Burning= 7 degen |

Quote:
If a +8 regen healing breeze is applied, the 18 degen goes to 10 degen which is still the max. |

Does the cap only count to conditions, or does it apply to other spells (Life Transfer, Phantasm, etc)

I got the following info from http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Health#Health_degeneration
"The maximum net regeneration or degeneration is limited to ten pips. Example: If a character is both poisoned and burning, the character would normally have a total of -11 pips, but due to the limit the player will only suffer from -10 health degeneration. If Healing Breeze is then cast upon that character, the spell provides +3 health regeneration, and the net total will now be -8 pips (not -7, because the limit doesn't change the basic effects of conditions affecting the character). In this case, the -1 pip over the visible -10 is "hidden" and doesn't immediately affect the player's health, but still counts towards canceling out the +3 regeneration. This is also noticable when multiple hexes and conditions cause so much degeneration on a character that small amounts of regeneration may be completely useless." |

Yeah thats what I thought! So there is a point to degen as much as posible beyond the 10 pip's. This will cause the player grief when he tries to Regen his health with a "Hidden" degen point factor which is not visible to the char.
So If a player has 18 degen on him, and his Troll/ whatever healing skill only does 8 health Regen, the char then still has 10 degen on him, right? Athis |

Correct. The same applies to regen as well..
If you put up Troll Unguent with 8 regen and then get smacked with 12 degen, you;'ll be suffering 4 degen. Same as if you managed to get your regen up to 18, you'd only see 10 regen and only get the benefit's of 10 regen.. the other 8 regen is "hidden"... if at some point you suffer 8 degen.. you'll be left at 10 regen, not 2 regen. |
