UW, Why pay 1K when you can go free?
I see people go ot the Temple of Ages going "LFP! UW!" But can't you just go to the UW for free at the Tomb of Primeval Kings? just walk through the portal, and wham, you're there.
Or does paying 1K give you any speacial benifits or something? Please answer back. |

Tomb of the Primeval Kings isn't Underworld. It contains the PvP maps, the first of which is called Underworld, hence the confusion. There are some similar monsters.
The Underworld, which can be accessed via ToA and the grenth statue in the shiverpeaks and has a fee, is not a finite area (so to speak) like Tombs is. In tombs, you clear the 4 maps and then kill bosses for green drops. Then it's over. There are no bosses that drop greens in the UW. The strategies to get through the places are completely different. There are no quests to complete in Tombs, as there are in UW. Ectos drop a LOT more in UW, and the random drops from monsters are much better there too. |

Tomb of the primeval kings is not the Underworld it is the old PvP area and yes 1 level there happens to say it is a level in underworld but they are 2 completely different places .
Underworld has tons of quests to do and is a very high level area with a chance for lots of good drops where as Tombs is a cake walk that you can mindlessly run through killing the same silly stuff and at the end maybe get some green garbage that will stain your hands |

As the prior poster has pointed out, Tombs is simply a four-map area with mainly white drops, a very rare ecto drop, and three bosses at the end that drop greens.
UW, hands down, has an increased drop, rare specifically. My first time down there, two rare storm bows (and damn good ones) and an ecto in the first smite group. If you like staffs, Tombs is great. |

The tombs is part of the under world. Just not the same part. I forget where it tells ya but to battle to the hall of heros is in the uw.

The path to the rift which contains the hall of heroes start in the Underworld, but there is no relation between that and the underworld you need to pay to access. The coinciding names are just a result of the storyline. Read about the GW myths here: http://guildwars.com/theworld/
