We've all seen them. We've all gotten excited when they dropped thinking it was actually a Ruby only to read Enslavement stone 30 gold , lol,

Noob question what are they for?

Collector's item. You trade 5 of them in to one of the beasts in Sorrow's Furnace for experience enhancing scrolls.

Or you can salvage them.

May be wrong, but I think you can trade them to collectors for scrolls to increase your experience.
