who exactly does this skill target?
guilt-For 11 seconds, the next time target foe casts a Spell that targets a foe, the Spell fails and you steal 14 Energy from that foe.
shame-For 11 seconds, the next time target foe casts a Spell that targets an ally, the Spell fails and you steal 14 Energy from that foe. whos perspective is that? for guilt lets say, does it mean: next time target foe casts a Spell that targets a--> foe of the character who has guilt on him, or the guy who casted guilt's foes? and same with shame |

As I see it....
You cast Guilt on an Enemy Healer then when that healer cast a spell (like heal other) on one of his group the spell fails and you get the energy. Shame -Enemy spellcasters - Necros, Mesmers, Elementals You cast shame on them then they cast rotten flesh on one of your allies, it fails and you get the energy |

Here's a simple scenario that might help:
Enemy A- Monk Enemy B- Warrior Enemy C- Mesmer Guilt: Cast Guilt on Enemy C. Enemy C uses Conjure Phantasm and it targets you. Spell fails and you gain 14 energy. Shame: Enemy A casts Healing Breeze on Enemy B. Spell fails and you gain 14 energy. |

Come on its not that hard.
Guilt: If you cast it on a foe, the next time that foe uses a spell that targets someone other than his ally, the spell fails and you gain 14 energy. Shame: If you cast it on a foe, the next time that foe uses a skill that targets an ally of his, the spell fails and you gain 14 energy. Just read the skill description slowly, it's not that difficult. |

I think it's from the caster's (i.e. your) perspective.
Guilt stops enemies from casting spells that would hurt you or your allies. So for Guilt, it's...For 11 seconds, the next time target foe (e.g. a Storm Kin) casts a Spell that targets a foe (you or your party members being the Storm Kin's foe), etc. Shame stops enemies from casting spells that would heal, protect, or enchant their allies. So for Shame, it's...For 11 seconds, the next time target foe (e.g. Priest of Sorrows) casts a Spell that targets an ally (e.g. his nasty axe weilding Summit Deep Knight buddy), etc. Clear as crystal or clear as mud? |
